New citizen here . Ceremony was last Thursday at the Irving Texas Field Office. Schedule was supposed to be @ 8:30, but they started the check in process around 8:45 which took about 45 minutes. Th

Yep; I know my birth certificate is unnecessary but I found it in another one of my immigration binders and figured, why not?

The birth certificate is sometimes requested at the interview. The birth certificate is the document that is used to determine your legal name unless you have a name change or marriage or divorce certificate. It is often required when there is a discrepancy between the names on the drivers license, SS card, passport, and green card. However, even in cases with no name discrepancies, it is sometimes requested.

Approved! Just have to wait for the oath ceremony notice, no same days in Cleveland. (And I'm actually back at work, they let me just go to the interview without charging me any PTO.)

Interview was very quick, I gave the IO a new sheet of trips outside the US including one I made to visit my parents at Christmas. 6/6 on the civics test. They wanted my green card, driver's license, and passport, and they did read through the proofs of payment for my traffic tickets but she probably would have been just fine without them. She didn't ask for my marriage certificate or even for my tax transcripts. No troubles at all.

OMG I'm so excited! How many other people were there at the same time? Was it just you? Was it the same room where they have the windows to go up to? Trying to figure out if it's where I went for my stamps in passports.
