I am very happy. After phone calls, inquiry and two infopass appointments I have this notice in my case status

Oath Ceremony Notice Was Mailed
We scheduled your oath ceremony for Receipt Number NBC* *********. We sent a notice with the date, time, and location of your oath ceremony to the address you gave us. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your notice by November 12, 2016, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Hi JimmyHou,

I had an Inforpass appointment 2 weeks ago to ask if i missed any notice and why my case takes so long. They said my case is under supervisor's review and there is tons of cases on his/her desk. They have no idea when he/she make decision on my case. They said if my case is outside of normal processing time (6 months after interview), I may ask lawyer to submit a case inquiry. Finally, they said I can do nothing to speed up my case but waiting! ***so sad***

I'm sorry to hear that you're still waiting, but I hope that after reading Stavroula's experience, you continue to push.

My advice is that you create a case inquiry through your online account right away. I also encourage you to call and ask for a service request to be created and to schedule another infopass after you give them a few weeks to respond to the inquiry.

They are currently in violation of the Immigration and Nationality Act which states that they have to give you a decision within 120 days of the interview. At this point you can take them to court; but you probably want to avoid that because it'll be expensive and time consuming. However, saying that they can't do anything is a lie. They can stop working on new cases until they finish your case which they are legally required to work on. I think you should right all this down in a letter and give it to them and ask that they pass it on to your interviewer's supervisor. State bluntly that the interviewer needs to stop working on any case filed after 12/2015 until he works on your case. I would also write to your congressman or senator. No one of these actions may solve the problem, but the more you pester them, the more likely it is that they'll do something. Good luck, and don't back off!

I'm so sick of waiting for USCIS. For sure, I'm gonna do everything you suggested to push them to work on my case.

I need to correct something I said above... the I.N.A. says they have 120 days to reach a decision after the interview; I said that you were past that point, but since you were interviewed in July, you're still about a month away from that limit. The other two applicants, stavroula58 and spring333 are well past this, but daqh still has some time to go. Maybe put in a service inquiry and then schedule an Infopass for right after the 120 days are over?

That's good news. At least now you know why there was a delay... sometimes lawyers do strange things that end up costing you a lot of time and money... he should have known better.

That's very odd. You're 11 months into the process; that's not within the processing time.

Are you sure you entered the correct filing date?

Did you enter your interview date? It may be using that as the "last action" on your case and considering that you're still in the 4 month window.

Try doing it again without entering the interview date. Alternatively, try submitting a "Did not receive notice" inquiry instead of a case status inquiry. There's no time limit for those and you can say that the notice you are waiting for is a decision or oath letter. Some of us did this back when we were still waiting to be placed inline for interview. May or may not help.

Everything went OK. I am an American citizen now. I applied for passport today at the post office where they kept my original naturalization certificate and they will mail it back to me along with the passport. I suppose that is the normal procedure. After that, I suppose I have to visit SSA to change my status
