Anyone else have/ had super early morning interview? Mine is at 8:45am and I live 1:30 hrs away. I'm going to spend the night before in a hotel bc of the kids. Can you imagine a 5 year old and a 7 month old cranky pants waiting at the lobby? Thank God my husband is coming along to watch them!

Some interviews are scheduled for 7:00 am.

8:00 am interviews are quite common.

Surprisingly, some applicants also get Saturday interviews.

If at all possible, I would leave the kids at home with someone, but I understand that's not always an option available to everyone.

Good luck to you.

The little one is exclusively breastfeeding and won't take a bottle. The 5 year old will be on spring break. My husband leaves for training the next day, I'm lucky he is taking leave from work to be there with the kids.

Sounds like you'll have a busy interview day.

I clearly have no idea how babies work. :-)

How long does it take between approval at the interview and the oath letter to be issued/status changed on line? I won't rest until I have taken my oath and handed my naturalization certificate.

Depends on where you live and what type of ceremony you require.

Some cities only have ceremonies every few months and some have them every day.

Buffalo seems to have frequent ceremonies, so it should be long... you just need to wait for one that isn't full.

The field office page says there are 5 ceremonies per month.

In our case oath letter was issued about an hour after the interview was completed. Some people who couldn't wait were told they would receive oath letters by mail.

Online status changed to "Oath scheduled" (or something similar) the evening of the interview. Status update text and Email notifications were also received.

Hi Spring333

I'm in this thread for my dads naturalization process, he had his interview yesterday in Atlanta.

I had my interview in Chicago 6 years ago and I received oath letter the same day. After the interview I was asked to wait for it in the waiting area. Most likely you will receive your oath letter the same day too. Be prepared to wait for it for at least an hour after the interview. In my and my dads experience, officers are extremely nice during naturalization interviews. Just make sure all your paperwork is in order and organized, even though you may not need any of it besides, green card, drivers license, passport and SS card. And dress appropriately. If you are driving to your interview, I would suggest you drive to the location beforehand and check out parking options as it could be impossible to park on a meter. Assuming your interview is on Congress. There are several parking garages nearby.
