I apologize if this question is been answer, but i cant seem to find it.

My case: i file for my i751 on May 2014, i lost my first NOA letter, down the road i received another ( notice of action I-797C ) for the biometrics appointment on OCT 2014.

And as of now i havent hear anything since my biometrics. I have called and requested my case status, they just say its pending for over 1 year+

Question: Since i lost my first NOA Letter, will the second NOA (biometrics appointment ) extend my GC status for another year? or its a completely different thing. I have yet to stamp my passport.

If the second letter extend my GC for another year, and i go get a stamp on my passpord, will it let me to travel outside the USA with ( stamp + second NOA letter)?

Thanks in advance,

Suggest that you make an info pass appointment to inquire about the status of your petition and request an I-551 stamp in your valid passport. It is time to get a little proactive about your case.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

A GC is a Form I-551, the USCIS stamp is also known as a temporary Form I-551. You should likely be concerned about the status of your petition, considering your I-797 receipt/extension letter likely expired in May 2015 (lost), and it is now December 2015 (6 months ago!). Hence my suggestion to make an Infopass appointment, inquire about a temporary passport stamp and the status of the ROC petition.

I just got off with a Upper level phone rep, not sure if its the same as having an infopass, but she told me my case is on hold due to a background/security check. Also where do i get the passport stamp? do i need to bring any documents/ make appointment?

Thanks Pitaya, i am new to this =(

Yes, you get the stamp at your local USCIS office. You have to make an appointment (appointments at local USCIS offices are called "InfoPass appointments" because you make them through InfoPass).
