You pay the fees online thru USCIS ELIS / you have to create an account and each time you log in they assign to you a new passwrod thru your email. Pain in the butt and they do not give a receipt

this is email i got about a receipt or receipt number to let you know upfront

Thank you for your inquiry of August 9, 2015, regarding your payment of the USCIS Immigrant Fee on behalf of your family member.

USCIS ELIS does not generate a paper receipt for your Immigrant Fee case. The Receipt Number serves as proof of receipt of the case by USCIS.

If you need a receipt for the payment you made, you should see the email sent to you by Pay.gov, the US Treasury system that acts as a payment processor for USCIS ELIS. You can also make an InfoPass appointment online at http://infopass.uscis.govto speak with a USCIS officer. At the InfoPass appointment, you can provide a copy of your credit card statement, bank statement, or processed check that was used for payment.

If you do not have your USCIS ELIS receipt number, and would like to obtain it for your records, you may view and print a copy of your USCIS Case Receipt Notice within your USCIS ELIS account. After you log in to your USCIS ELIS account, access the "View Messages" tab to view or print your official case receipt confirmation from USCIS.

However, we have reviewed your inquiry and need to advise you that we are constrained from providing you with information regarding your family member’s USCIS ELIS case. Specifically, it is not clear that you are the subject of the requested information or have the legal authority to act on behalf of the applicant.

Due to rules set forth in the Privacy Act of 1974, we cannot discuss the issues or share information concerning the immigration status of the applicant in this case, nor can we confirm that he or she has any action pending with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

However, if the applicant would like to contact us using the email address used to create the USCIS ELIS account, he or she may submit an inquiry to the Customer Contact Center by clicking the "Email Us for Help" link on the USCIS ELIS home page.

In general, immigrants should receive their Permanent Resident Card within 45 days of their entry into the United States or within 45 days after their USCIS Immigrant Fee is received (whichever occurs later). If you or your family members do not receive your Permanent Resident Card within the timeframe stated above, you can submit an inquiry to the USCIS Customer Contact Center using the “Email Us for Help” link.

In addition, applicants are not required to provide proof of payment when they travel to United States, and their case status in USCIS ELIS will not change until after they do travel to the United States.

We hope this information is helpful.

Sincerely,

USCIS Customer Contact Center

ELJ

Is this for Egypt?? Our pack 3 email tells us that we have to pay at CIB bank. That we must print a deposit slip (found in his profile? Cannot find it there), and after payment is made we will receive a payment receipt, this receipt will have a number needed to make our interview appointment.

I have the same problem .

I'm trying to print out the deposit slip to pay at CIB bank at step 8 on ustravedosc (CGI) website, but does not accept the case ID nor goes to the following step. What should I do?

By the way, I have been trying to do this step 8 since November 21, 2015....The embassy doesn't respond to my emails.

Having the exact same issue. Can't get a deposit slip. The information I have says I'm supposed to pay the fee at a CIB bank branch using the deposit slip we get after creating a profile on the ustraveldocs website.

But there's no deposit slip anywhere within that site.

My emails to the embassy have not gotten any response.

Step 1

Log-in to our online applicant system and create a profile. This will ensure the proper amount is paid and activated in timely manner. Values are shown in U.S. Dollars (USD); however the fee payable is in the Dominican Republic Peso (DOP). This page has more information about the different visa application fees.

Step 2

Click on Schedule My Appointment option on the left-hand side of your screen. Complete Steps for Visa Type, Post, Visa Category and Visa Class.

Step 3

Once you are on the Payment screen, click on Payment Options. You will print your CGI Deposit slip to take to a Banco Popular Bank location. DO NOT PRINT MULTIPLE COPIES OF THE DEPOSIT SLIP. If you are applying for multiple visas for your family or group, only ONE payment is required.

The DOP amounts are based on the consular currency exchange rate determined by the U.S. Department of State. Applicants who do not pay the correct fee for their visa type may be restricted from scheduling an interview.

Step 4

Visit the Banco Popular Bank location to pay your visa fee. You must bring your CGI Deposit Slip to make your payment. Your CGI Deposit Slip must contain a valid CGI Reference number and Peso amount.

When you pay the visa fee, you acknowledge that this is a non-refundable visa application processing fee required as a prerequisite to the processing of an application. It does not indicate the existence of a contract with the applicant, nor does it guarantee a successful application. There is no refund possible regardless of the outcome of this application.

Step 5

After you have paid the visa application fee, the Banco Popular Cashier will issue you a receipt for your records. It cannot be replaced if it is lost. You will not be able to schedule an appointment without your CGI Reference number.

Step 6

Once you pay your visa fee, you can schedule your interview at 11am the following business day. Log-in to your profile and complete the Schedule Your Appointment steps with your CGI Reference number.

Thanks for the reply.

The embassy actually wrote back to say that the deposit slip from the ustraveldocs website wouldn't work for us. This is for the Cairo embassy.

(even though initially they said that's how we should print the deposit slip)

Did you go through the first part of the profile creation? Make sure it says you are applying for the K1 Visa. That's all I can think of for a reason it wouldn't display the fee amount.

You can always just log out. Log back in and start a new profile. Or update your profile from the beginning.

We were able to print our deposit slip (once the embassy told us it was available) and the amount was displayed.

We had problems getting past step 8, so the embassy informed us that due to technical difficulties my fiance would not be able to print the deposit slip and we would be allowed to pay the fee on the day of the interview. They would upload our case to the system and we could then schedule the interview. However, after our case was uploaded we were able to print the deposit slip. My fiance went to CIB bank and tried to pay the fee, he was turned away. The bank teller informed him that it must have an amount printed on it or it cannot be used. We have asked the tech department and they tell us to try a different web browser, we've tried 6 and none show the amount. We asked CIB Bank tellers and they tell himto take it to the embassy to have them write it in, when he went to the embassy they tell him that it is not their business, it belongs in the consulate??? That makes no sense to me. Right now the congressman's immigration liaison is inquiring about how we are to schedule without a receipt. They are taking FOREVER to respond.

Unfortunately I think you'll have to wait for a response to see what the next step is. I know that previously you were able to pay the fee in person on the day of the interview. With that system the embassy scheduled the interview for you. They switched to a self scheduling system and the deposit payment in advance and I can assure you there have been technical issues. We dealt with those issues as well.

Make sure your web browser and your Adobe pdf plug in are both up to date. I don't necessarily think that's what the problem is, but it certainly can't hurt. I used Safari (on a Macbook) with no trouble.

None of that works for K-1 visa chasers.

Great Writeup, otherwise - I may 'lift' this and do some stuff in the wiki.
