My wife is from Peru, we got married and are living in Argentina and have a baby. How probable is it that my wife is able to receive a tourist visa?

We got married in November 2014, our baby was born in September 2015, and we sent a I-130 petition for the IR-1/CR-1 visa for my wife.

We would like to visit my family for the holidays. How probable is it that they will give my wife a tourist visa if she applies?

If you do not apply, zero.

If you apply something more than that.

Why not just apply and find out? You do not have much time to do so.

If you sent in a petition, that suggests that you have plans to relocate to the US, otherwise, there is little point to applying for the CR1, as you would have to prove that you are domiciled in the USA....that said, if indeed you are moving back soon, then the question (in the CO's mind) becomes...'what will motivate the Peruvian spouse to return to Peru instead of camping out in the US, waiting for the final processing of the CR1 immigrant visa?'...that's what is going to be examined...

We are both living here in Argentina with our baby. The baby is already registered. We sent the I-130 petition two weeks ago. We would like to go to the states for the holidays and because it will be my mom's 60th birthday and my brothers and I are going to do a huge family get-together.

the main question is still out there.....why would she return to Peru instead of staying put while the IR1 process is completed in the US (via an AOS) ?

That is what she will have to convince the CO...that she has more reasons to return to Peru than to remain in the US with you? How can she refute that?

The CO won't be interested in why she wants to go - they will want to be thoroughly convince that she would depart the US after the visit.

Brevity sans verbose diatribes, I like that.

OP, if you chose to apply, please let us know the outcome.

No one can give you any probabilities. Each case is judged on its own merits.

Exactly.
