Either of you can send the documents to the NVC. Make sure you include the coversheet that you received from the NVC. Once you pay the AOS fees you can send all the documents at one time i.e. the AOS and Civil documents in one folder. Do not send them separately as that will delay your process. For the documents you can send the photocopies as they will ask for the originals during the time of the interview.

Here's something that I missed earlier (and can't really figure out why I missed it)... In my I-864 I have a joint sponsor, as my wife doesn't currently work in the U.S., so on of her relatives who lives and works there signed on as joint sponsor so we meet the income requirements. When we sent in the AOS/IV package we mailed it to him, he added his IRS tax transcripts and then mailed the package to the NVC.

Question is, do I need to ask him to send me the original documents by mail so I would have them for the interview? Since he submitted the originals with the package, aren't those same originals going to be sent to the embassy for my interview so would I still need an original copy myself?

It's just that the income topic is a very touchy subject for some (especially in our culture), and I don't like bringing it up unless absolutely necessary.

That is correct that the NVC sends the documents you send to the Consulate. But it is also advised to take the i-864 signed by the joint sponsor as the CO at the consulate will ask for it. I have seen many cases on VJ where the complete package sent by the NVC was not received by the consulate and the i-186 was asked for.

The P4 letter you receive will also state the same to take the signed AOS with you to the interview. Make sure that when u take the signed AOS to the consulate the signature is in Blue or Black.

The best is to keep the whole of the AOS package with you for the interview i.e. all the financial documents.

Better be Safe than Sorry.

I saw someones post regarding the AoS and what you need to take to interview. If you are using a joint sponsor, do you only need to bring their information to the Interview or do I (the primary sponsor) need to bring my information? I have not worked in the last year as I am in school, so none of my information is helpful, but if I need to bring it I will. Thanks in advance.

Hi all! We got our 3rd NA on December 7. Called and confirmed - case complete! Scan date was November 2.

good luck all.

Congrats! Were you put on supervisor review? I am debating if it is best to risk the potential "42 day" wait or if we should let it take its course for a few days past the 30 day mark

You don't have to take either. But i have always advised you should always have a copy of the WHOLE AOS package just in case (I have read lost forms, missing forms).

But of course if there are changes than of course originals have to be in hand at interview.

Congrats! Were you put on supervisor review? I am debating if it is best to risk the potential "42 day" wait or if we should let it take its course for a few days past the 30 day mark

Thanks!

I called on Thursday since it was past the 30 day mark, and the operator told me she could put my on supervisor review but also said that they were a few days behind schedule due to being off for Veterans Day and thanksgiving. I chose not to go for the supervisor review since I was expecting them to take longer than 30 days due to the holidays in November.

I called again in Friday and the operator told me the case file was under review but not completed. And on Monday at 7 pm we saw the 3rd NA.

I personally would wait before put under review - I think they're slowly catching up!
