Thanks! I will do that now.

One last question, when you fill out your I-864's, is anyone hand-printing them with ink or is everyone typing them?

I typed mine on the form. I am assuming* that everything was good with them as my checklist was only for the marriage termination document, and mentioned nothing about the I-864. (And we submitted 2 x I-864 (wife and mother), and 1 x I864A (wife's father)). The only thing that we hand wrote on them was the date and signatures.

* you know what happens with assumptions ;)

Hi All! We have been here since November 2 and still not moving anywhere yet. :( Our first scan date is November 2. We found out a few days later that we missed out a paper (copy of a police cert) and there we did a big mistake of sending it with a cover letter to NVC at our lawyer's advice instead of waiting for RFE. So the second scan date is November 12 - already ten days away from the first. Now that it has been 47 days even from the second scan date with no CC yet, our frustration level is like unbearable. :'( We call NVC everyday since we reached 30 days and learned that our case has been under suervisor review since December 16. We also tried other options such as sending follow up emails through our lawyer and a congressman office. Still nothing is clear about our case except that we receive the same answer everyday - "under supervisor review". We requested to talk to the supervisor directly with no luck so far.

We were not fortunate with NOA2 as well where we had to wait almost 7 months to get it approved. Now again with NVC case completion! We already missed our first Christmas and praying very hard now to be together on our first marriage anniversary in February second week with a hope which gets thinner each day. Really so painful!

We are now seeking for all kinds of valuable opinions on what we should do next. Please, please share your thoughts or anything you know what we can do to end this painful process as soon as possible. Thanks everyone!

It should be right above the AOS fee stuff in the section called Choice of Address & Agent (DS-261).

Did you file with a lawyer?

Did you receive an email checklist? I know on my email checklist, it included a cover sheet on page 2 to use for mailing to the NVC.

Just got off the phone with NVC - Really helpful lady! She told me to print the original coversheet - she told me as well that everything else had been reviewed and was all good, so provided that my new I-864 is correct, then its case complete! :)

Good thing I called. He said they already received and approved it. THEN he questioned how THAT could have happened when I didn't submit one and I was just assigned a case number two hours ago. So now he is reviewing with a supervisor. I begged him to please follow up as I just would prefer they cancel whatever they have and let me do it again than accept any "free steps forward" as there is no such thing as free and I don't want any checklists or setbacks that add 30-90 days which seems to be what happens every time something is amiss. Sigh....I really wish this one thing had gone right. But anyway, so glad I called.

Was still waiting on the phone for like 30 minutes there and he came back after talking to a supervisor and said that when I called this morning and talked to the agent, she set me as the agent therefore I didn't need to do the form (she DID ask me that question but I was not aware you could do it via phone I guess). So I jumped a step to "in process" now there. I guess I would have preferred the standard way though as I am still nervous something will be wrong in the end.

Thanks! I will do that now.

One last question, when you fill out your I-864's, is anyone hand-printing them with ink or is everyone typing them?

We typed in all the information, Notice when you type in the information the bar-code changes this allows them to scan the ba-rcode and the data you entered into the application will automatically be filled in on their screen. This is very convenient for NVC, as they wont have to have a data entry personnel manually enter in the details also it could speed up your process. I'm only speculating when i say this but i believe forms entered in by hand may go on a different pile than ones entered by computer. the ones entered by computer takes seconds to scan while the ones entered by Pen may take some time to be entered into their system. Just make things you are unable to enter by computer you ink in once documents are printed, such as your signature.

How long does it take between payment of AOS fee and IV fee? It's been 10 days, and nothing's happening.

I completed DS-261 on 12/18 and paid AOS bill on 12/19, but the IV bill is still not available for payment. Is there a step I'm missing?

Call the NVC and have them review the DS261 with you over the phone.... The IV fee doesn't unlock until the DS261 has been reviewed.

Thank you. Do they ever review DS261 by themselves (and what's the timeframe?), or is it really better to call?

Why can't NVC do their jobs without constant prodding? I'm fighting a very nasty flu and lost my voice, and the thought of having to call (AGAIN!) sounds exhausting at the moment...

Oh, well. I better gather energy and start calling. I guess it will take them forever to review the stupid form otherwise. Grumble-grumble.

I think they eventually will. I've read about people waiting 3+ weeks for it to be reviewed not knowing they could call have it done over the phone.

Yes, my day is not complete without talking to someone at NVC. :)

Since last week, I kept on asking reps to pass me to a supervisor but my luck still is not strike yet.

Is there anything else we can do in addition to calling them everyday?

Request a NVC expedite request by sending a request to following email address based on your case and the delays it is causing and ask them if it can be expedited at Embassy level. If your embassy accept that request then your case will be sent to embassy ASAP and it will be processed then there only.

NVCExpedite@state.gov

Read some forum topic for how to write a expedite request email.
