Question how long does it take for the whole process at nvc to complete. my case was approved in uscis 12/15/15 nvc says they have received my case but havent scanned it yet. I'm just trying to get an idea of how many more months before the interview is scheduled. Thank you:)

Once NVC receives your case, it generally takes them around 3 weeks to generate the case number and invoice ID.

If you use my timeline as a reference, we had everything completed (DS 261, DS 260, and fees) in about 9 days. After the documentation is mailed in, it takes them 30-45 days to review... Then if all is well, they schedule you for an interview. Interview timelines vary by country, but there is a spreadsheet in the case complete/interview thread that you can check your country and see what the average time is from Case Complete to Interview.

Oh that would be nice if ppl knew.

But it´s a waiting game, from when you are sent to NVC to CC.

I have seen ppl fly in and out with in weeks, other takes months. I have even seen years.

So be rdy for a stay here around 60 so days if all goes fast.

Read ppl´s time lines will give you a idea.

That's correct on the 3rd n/a. Just wait for AOS PAID to change to n/a and you're CC.

Nothing to validate with DS-260. you will want to print out the confirmation page and bring that with you to the interview.

Thank you - that's super helpful. I'm nowhere near the 3rd N/A since I'm still waiting for the DS-260 and my AOS/IV package just arrived there Friday and hasn't been scanned yet (according to the rep this AM) but I just want to know what it will look like when it's case complete.

So, here's my plan - sound right?

-Today/Tomorrow - hoping IV shows PAID (as opposed to in process since I paid Thursday) and DS-260 unlocks in which I will submit same day

-Xmas Eve early AM (since closes at 2pm) - call to see if I have scan date (will be 6 days from package arriving)

-The next 30-45 days - log-in furiously and impatiently hoping for 3 N/As

How long after your scan date do they usually tell people if they are missing something or if there is a dreaded checklist? Is there really nothing to call about once I have my scan date and if I don't get a checklist except to periodically check if case is complete in which they will tell me to wait 45 days blah blah?

My scan date was 12/4, and I got a checklist email on 12/18.

Ok, so it took about 2 weeks for them to tell you. Good to know. Hoping I've got everything in there but according to your case, they could just "lose" something that was already sent in. Annoying. Hopefully yours goes faster now that you resent it so fast.

Yeah, I was a bit disappointed... My understanding is that it will be another 30 days from the time they receive my checklist response. Essentially it just resets your scan date. Kind of annoying.

I feel like they purposely do that to buy themselves time. Really frustrating. But, 30 more days will bring it to that 45 day mark that they're telling everyone with no checklist so it could be sooner than you think!

NVC got your case really fast. We were approved on Dec 10th....case sent out on Dec 17th and they haven't received our case yet. It was a long shot to call but I will wait and call in about a week:)

When and from where did you mail the AOS and IV package? Dis you the date that your package actually was delivered to NVC?

I am trying to figure out the time table between package arrival to NVC and actual scan date.

My scan date was 4 days after arrival.

I believe the scan dates are postdated by one day because they do not work on Saturdays and your scan and mine were on Dec. 19th.
