I'm so worried. I'm not sure what to do. We had a joint sponsor lined up, but 2 days ago we told him we were ready for his part of the process and we haven't heard anything back from him yet. Today I asked my lawyer (they are acquaintances) if he had been contacted by the sponsor and the lawyer hasn't answered either.

Once you've paid the fees, how long do you have to submit the paperwork to the NVC? Does the case ever "expire"?

A year from last contact with NVC your fees are good. After that they have to be repaid

I have a question, after the AOS & IV fees are shown as paid. Does the NVC sent any email/mail correspondence requesting civill documents etc..? If yes how long do they normally take from the fees being showed as paid before you are contacted?

I never got a mail like that.

I just have all the paper work rdy.

When you pay, you get the check list and cover letter.

As it says in the email:

Step 2: Pay fees

Step 3: Submit visa application form

Step 4: Collect financial documents

Step 5: Collect supporting documents

Step 6: Submit documents to the NVC

- Don´t wait for it to be paid, find all the docs. and be rdy. I mailed it out to NVC 1-3 days before i knew they would get the last payment

Guys today is 30days since my scan date, should i call them or just wait few more days ? Cuz they might put on supervisor review and im afraid that it can take longer

If i were in your place i would wait exactly 5 working days.. after that i would call.

I don´t think they do that!

I mailed both my packets right after we paid the IV Bill.

I have a question which is not exactly related to NVC but to the process itself.

I´ve gotten my former AOS denied and now I think I´m just traumatized and constantly expecting for the worse...I know I shouldn´t be though.

Anyways, my question is for you, the USC: if your spouse got his/her petition denied for the second time (God forbids this to happen), what would you do? Would you have the strenght to reapply, would you move to your spouse´s country and leave all you have in the US behind, divorce?

I´m really curious to hear your thoughts. I´m sorry if this is the wrong thread. I just didn´t want to create a big polemic thing by posting my question to the main page of VJ.

3rd N/A this morning!! will call NVC to confirm CC! Original Scan Date: Nov. 10th, New Scan Date (because of Checklist) Dec. 2nd

Yes, I would work on both the AOS and IV package immediately.

Yes start getting your paper work together. I have been working on the AOS and IV packets. Do all you can while you wait for case number and IIV number. Then you can do your DS-261 and pay your fees.

Also look at the link for NVC Process...it tells you exactly what to expect and what to start gathering for your packets.
