On Tuesday night, Fox News's Mike Tobin put the black-on-black crime question to a protester in Chicago, Brendan Glover, after the release of a video showing the police shooting of Laquan McDonald. Here's how it played out, as shown in the video above posted by Media Matters:

Mike Tobin: Essentially the question he's getting to is why is there not outrage when there's black on black violence.

Brendan Glover: Because crime is going to happen. Wherever you go, crime happens. And the people that are here to serve and protect are a part of that problem. So it becomes a problem when you can't even call 911 and feel like you're safe — to protect you from people that are committing crimes. That's the point I'm trying to make.

Glover essentially argued that while crime can be shocking (earlier he and Tobin pointed to the murder of a 9-year-old as one example of a horrible local incident), it's also disturbing that black communities are genuinely scared of calling for help when that crime happens, because they're by and large dealing with police forces that disproportionately shoot and kill black Americans. In other words, everyone expects violent criminals to exist, and that's obviously tragic and dangerous — but at the very least people shouldn't have to believe that their government-sanctioned public protectors are also dangerous.

the past few years must have been super traumatic for this guy, seeing headline after headline - all these black people killed by white cops. must have been hard for the guy to digest. he had all these fears bottled up, and he just had to vent on fb. he was blowing some steam, lord knows obama hasn't done anything to stop the headlines. the past few years have been really rough, lots of changes, so many that nothing has changed at all!

i really wish caring wasn't an either or thing, ya know? i know i get upset when i see headline after headline of white people killing other white people but i rarely lift an eyebrow at cops killing white people. it's really hard to know just how much i should care about white people, like shouldn't i only care about female white deaths?since i live on the east coast should i only concern myself with murders on the east coast? can i narrow it down to caring about female white deaths on the east coast in my age group? i mean ultimately what more can be done but curse obama and take comfort in knowing gang violence will forever end once he's out of office.

Figuring him out wasn't that hard after reading the article. He wanted to front himself as a thug on Worldstar by threatening some white people. I think someone with a few more braincells than him mentioned possible legal repurcussins and young thug deleted his post hoping no grownups and seen it. I also read that he is expected to be released into his mommy's care after his court hearing. I imagine being released into mommy's custody is not gonna help his gangsta image any either. If this guy is 21 years old, what is the age young men are considered adults in Chicago?

of course not, the article says he's looking at up to five years in prison.

my point was that was probably why he was being released to his mother - he's a student, more than likely resides at the family address. once the fbi determined that he wasn't an actual threat, " prosecutors will likely agree to let him be released to his mother"
