Hi. We also received a checklist regarding our AOS. We placed our son in the "person immigrating with me". Our son is already a US citizen (by CRBA) but first time coming to the US, so we thought this is the correct thing to do. NVC said we need to remove him but don't need to send the corrected AOS form to NVC. I will bring it to the interview. Mine is January 20, 2016, 6:15am.

You were asked to revise the household member. When you reviewed your AOS household member, did you really find an error? Just asking coz I'm thinking can it be a false checklist?

We had Rapid Visa generate our I-864 and I-864a for us and they made some last minute edits to the form so we don't have a copy of what was actually sent to the NVC.

We used a household member's income to supplement my income. I think what happened is that we forgot to add the household member to the household size. We put "2" instead of "3"... Me + My Wife + Household Member... Anyaways... we're just going to have to bring an updated form to the Embassy.

I hope its a false checklist like you said but we're not taking any chances ... plus I called the NVC and verified that our checklist is, indeed, real.. The phone operator just said to fill out the entire form again, from top to bottom, sign it and have the beneficiary bring it to the interview along with our other documents.

Hi. Yea. My husband also included a household member and we did add her to the household size.

We are bringing an updated I-864 and I-864A too. Goodluck to us.

Hello again,

I'm sorry, I can't help myself from thinking about this interview, about the questions, if I have all the documents etc. Now there's something that is been bugging me all day long and decided that maybe I should ask here on the forum, even though I'm not sure if it's the right topic to be asking in..

So, I want to know if there is anyone here that had their interview already and they have used for Affidavit of Support ONLY assets? My husband and I haven't been working for a while now, but we submitted for financial documents only proof of assets (bank statements, stocks, previous salary statements etc). I want to mention that only with my husband's assets we are still 20x above the poverty line.

I was just wondering if anyone had issues at the interview because of this? I'm worried and I just want to know what to expect.

Thank you!

We're using only assets and I have my interview on Monday so I can let you know what they say about the assets. All the assets are in Sweden and in my name (although they obviously belong to both of us since we're married). The embassy sent me an email about what I need to do to use the assets so it seems so far so good. :)

I know using only assets depends a lot on the embassy you'll go through. Some accept it, some don't. Also, you need to be at least a couple of thousand over the poverty guidelines, they don't like when you're just on the limit.

If you're using assets from both of you, then the immigrant also needs to fill out an I-864a.

Hi everyone,

My husband's interview is in two weeks....I am stressing out .....Does my husband need my(petitioner's) original documents....I sent a copy of my naturalization certificate ...should I send the original certificate to my husband as well?

What other original documents would my husband need from me? I spoke to NVC rep and was told that at the interview only the applicant's original documents are needed but I see something otherwise from the posts

He only needs to bring his original documents and not like your birth certificate or anything. He'll get an email from the embassy before his interview stating what he needs to bring, I guess that's after the CO has reviewed your file because my email was very specific to our case and the proof we had already sent in.

Hi there! Thank you for your reply! Yes please, do let me know how it goes, cause I'm really curious. I haven't received any email from the embassy though, so I will probably just take everything with me. As I said, my husband alone has assets that are 20x above the poverty line for a household of 2. To be on the safe side I will fill in a I-864A for me as well..

Thanks again and good luck with the interview! Keep us posted!

My interview date is Jan. 21-2016. I checked case status on ceac and it still shows at NVC. Should it be ready or transit status by now?

Wondering about the exact same thing; our interview date is Jan-11, and CEAC website is still saying "at NVC".

Is the divorece decree needed at the interview for the immigrant, petitioner or both? I asked this question a while back and was assured just for the immigrant, now it seems to be different answers. Can anyone clarify?

Any document you submitted a copy of you should have the original or certified copy at interview. Some people the CO wants to see the original whether petitioner or Beneficiary. Better to have both if it applies.

Your Naturalization certificate isn't necessary. Divorce decree. Any copy sent to USCIS or NVC you need original at interview.

Thank you. It is your case that gave me some concern.

Unfortunately, not knowing in the beginning of the process to send copies. I sent my original Divorce Decree with my I-130.

I will request another one so that my husband will have it at the interview.

Good Luck to you. I hope that everything is resolved quickly.

Yes any originals sent to USCIS they keep. They do not forward on to NVC. Good move on your part.

Hello,

I got case complete on 12/15/2015.

Consulate is Delhi,India.

How many days does it take to schedule an interview?

When should i be expecting my interview to be?

Thanks

Well last I have on my spreadsheet for your embassy is 11/16 Case Complete. So unless they still have slots for January I would think a February interview is more likely.
