Hello Everyone,

I emailed NVC a request for an expedited interview date as our case been completed on Dec 3rd; tonight when I called NVC they advised that they had heard back from the US Embassy Islamabad that the request had been approved. When I started this process I never imagined I'd be making any such request, but a serious emergency has arisen and if we can save even a couple of weeks by this, it can make a big difference.

All the NVC could tell me was that they are sending the case immediately to embassy and there is nothing more they will do with our case, that it's up to the Embassy now. Does anyone know the process for a situation like this? Will the Embassy contact the Beneficiary directly or the petitioner and the source of contact(Call or Email)? How is the interview scheduled? We haven't had the medical done yet, should we wait for embassy response or should we go with the medical exam? Does anyone know if these expedites, once granted, really do make a difference in time... or not? I imagine if I tried to call the Embassy to find out how the process works, they'd not be able to tell me anything as they don't have the case yet. Should I call anyway?

Have no knowledge how to proceed further.

If anyone has any experience with something like this cases from US embassy Islamabd per se, please let me know smile.gif

Thanks-

Once the case reaches the Embassy it will be entered into the system. Normally they contact you to schedule the interview and medical.

Hopefully you have your documents in order as that will be very important. You will get the interview soon enough as things will move once it gets entered into their system. That means you could have an interview in 2 weeks after the Embassy makes contact with you, which may be 5 days after the case is received at the Embassy.

Hey guys, I've got 2 days left before my interview. Do you have any suggestions and ideas as how I should organize all my documents? Is there a process where they ask for originals and copies? Should I put the originals with the number of copies they are asking for? Separate the originals from the copies?

I did do a lot of front loading. I even sent them a 25 page child art style book I made (which I let the kids color) that explained our whole story with pictures instead of words.

attachicon.gifOwlie-Lowlie.jpg

Oh My Gosh Lowlie.. that is so beautiful! You had me tearing up...Very creative and sweet to have the kids do that.... As Dswheels said front loading helps with immigration. It is my opinion that the decision is made even before you set foot into that interview (eg.pass, fail, unsure), the interview gives an opportunity to change the Immigration officer's minds. Thats why if all your docs are good,be careful not to say something something stupid. And in some cases like failed drug test, you already denied. If you now your docs are weak - Interview time is a time to convince them from unsure to sure.

So I totally believe in the no questions interview :) Lowlie congrats again and I wish you all the best for you and your lovely family.

Ah thank you! Your post is the first thing I saw when I logged on my computer this morning, so you made my day begin with a smile. I used to wonder if it's true that consulates make their decision before the interview. Our case, (and one other yesterday who posted being approved without questions at the interview) is proof that they do. So indeed, the interview is just a chance to change a consulates mind, or confirm for a consulate that his/her decision is the right one.

All the best wishes to you too (F) (F) (F)

Hey guys! We have our interview on Monday and I am so nervous.

We do have all our documents in order but.. I am scared! The one thing I am scared about is.. we didn't sent too much proof with our I-130 petition. But we have a lot of proof that we are going to take to the interview. But I am a bit worried.

Anyways, let me tell you our checklist.

1. Original P4 + photocopy

2. DS-260 confirmation + complete form

3. Current + old passports + 2 passport photos

4. Original Birth and Marriage Certificate + photocopies

5. Original PCC + photocopy

6. Original signed I-864EZ + Tax transcripts of 2014,2013,2012 + W-2's of 2014,2013,2012

7. Paystubs for the year of 2015 + Employment letter

8. Medical Report

9. A copy of everything we sent to the USCIS

10. A copy of petitioner's passport + Naturalization Certificate + Social Security Card + Driving license

And then we have proof:

1. Skype Call logs of past year and a half

2. Whatsapp chats of first 3 months and last 3 months(there is just too much whatsapp data)

3. Facebook chat messages of past 2 years

4. Travel itineraries of 4 trips we took together

5. Boarding passes and tickets to our honeymoon

6. Hotel bills

7. Over a 150 wedding pictures including pictures from all the wedding events(4 different events) + atleast 20 pictures each from the 4 trips we took together

8. Immigration stamps on the petitioner's(my husband) passport showing the trips he took to India to visit me

9. Over a 100 emails we sent each other

Basically we have met every 6 months in the past 2 years so we have taken many trips together.

So these are all the things we have. Is the proof enough? Are we missing any documents?

Please respond.

Idtinuke Congrats!

Please, how big is your wedding album? Because mine is massive :) and was just thinking if I should reprint some of the pics or go with a 5kg photobook  . Secondly, did they ask to see any document other than,PCC, Birth and Marriage Cert.? Ofcourse I know I should print my call logs, watsapp, Facebook etc. Once again congrats please throw more light on these questions cos my date is fast approaching.
