Hi guys, my expedite request was approved and my case was shipped out on the 25th and arrived at the cairo embassy on the 30th. My status on ceac still says in transit is this normal? And how soon will my husband have his interview?

Thanks

Hi,

I had a question. I got married on 28 Dec 2014 and have put filing status single for irs return 1040 ez.

yes I know it is mentioned on vj that no matter where your spouse is, if you are married at end of tax period that is 31 Dec 2014 for my case then have to file as married filing jointly or married filing separately.

now situation is that I have interview in 10 days from now. and if it comes to co's notice it could be a red flag I guess but my reason is that we didn't file married because beneficiary doesn't have Ssn number. we didn't have any other intention to hide or something. now I cannot ammend returns now as I heard it takes three weeks to get amended return. if counter asked what answer can I give to support? any suggestions? has anyone got into such a situation. your inputs could be a great help.

Yes it will say In-Transit until they scan it into system. I would think in a week or 2 you will get something from them. You can also email them be sure to have case# and Expedite in the Subject line to get their attention.

Won't be an issue don't worry about it. If asked say you will amend so as you get SS#. They see this in many cases its not an issue.

mallafir76, Thank you. Looking forward for a smooth ride onwards. :)

Congratulations. :) I see you've had the same ridiculously long journey as us. We filed in September 2014 and I have my interview December 21st. :) Hopefully we both have a smooth interview.

Hi All, I havr a query..My husband submitted the old version of I864EZ in thr AOS package. The package was sent in July and the scan date was 27th July. The new version of I864EZ was releases in the first week of August I guess and my case was completed by 21st of August. I have my interview on the 5th of January. My question is should i carry the new version of the I864EZ for the interview or will the old submitted version will be enough?

Appreciate your responses.

Hello Everyone, I provided the additional marriage evidence documents requested after the interview and they gave me a doc stating they would contact me for another interview or appointment. Anyone else had this experience?

They will review since I guess you either didn't have enough or none. So you will come in now for a second interview and maybe questions. Be ready.
