Issued! The interview was on December 2nd, on the 5th SEAC status changed to Administrative Processing and today, on the 7th it says Issued. Now it's carved in stone finally and I am out of any doubt

I did do a lot of front loading. I even sent them a 25 page child art style book I made (which I let the kids color) that explained our whole story with pictures instead of words.

USCIS : 7 months
Marriage : March 21, 2014
I-130 Sent : April 18, 2014
I-130 NOA1 : April 22, 2014
I-130 Approved: November 14, 2014 ( after two service request) 

NVC: 6 months
Received : December 1, 2014
Received DS-261 / AOS Bill : January 1, 2015
Pay AOS Bill : January 9, 2015
Submit DS-261 : January 7, 2015
Receive IV Bill : January 15, 2015 called after AOS showed paid, they released it overnight)
Pay IV Bill : January 23, 2015
Send IV and AOS: January 29, 2015
Scan date: February 3, 2015
Checklist: March 19, 2015 (only need to send south Africa police report)
Case Complete: June 3, 2015 

EMBASSY: 10 months
Interview appointment letter : December 4, 2015
Interview Date : January 21, 2016 medical wasn't complete
Second interview date: April 4th 2016
Interview Result :APPROVED!!!
Visa Received : 4/13/2016 ( they sent us a email stating our visa was ready for pick up)

USA LIFE
US Entry :4/29/2016 
Social Security : 5/10/2016 (filed from the actual office)
State ID: 5/14/2016
Started working!!: 5/25/2016
Finally paid green card fee: 6/24/2016 ( note said we will receive it within 60 days)
Green card in hand: 7/5/2016 10 year green card we done!! 

1st king born: 6/30/2016

April 2017 update: Marriage still going strong, baby boy getting bigger. Life is good

Congratulations. That is good to hear for the Ethiopian massive. Not sure what is going on at that Embassy but good to see that they are freeing up interview time.

I reckon that wait was not a easy on but big things going on for you.

Hello... I am still trying to take in the reality this morning... I woke up to the most fantastic news by far. We've got an interview date and it's JAN 21. YEAHHHH... WE MADE IT !!!!!!!! :dance: It has been a long, long journey since we filed I130 in Oct 2014. Thank you to all who posted articles to help us thru this journey and to others still waiting, never give up. Dwheelz, kindly update us please. Thank you very much.

Congratulations. That is good to hear for the Ethiopian massive. Not sure what is going on at that Embassy but good to see that they are freeing up interview time.

I reckon that wait was not a easy on but big things going on for you.

Wasnt easy i think im the longest here we started the process april of 2014! And im a citizen lol long way coming this month makes 1 year and nvc and 5 of those months was waiting on interview but yes we are at the end!!!

If my i864 already update since i just sent to nvc on september 2015. Do i still need to bring my income tax for 2016 and my joint sponsor too. My husband is going to have an interview on 29 of jan 2016. @dweels

MDee, you do not need to bring 2015 taxes for a January 2016 interview. 2015 taxes are not required to be filed until April 2016.

For my wife's interview on Tuesday in Manila, does she need to register her delivery address online BEFORE going to the interview or does she do that there?

Congratulations. :) I see you've had the same ridiculously long journey as us. We filed in September 2014 and I have my interview December 21st. :) Hopefully we both have a smooth interview.

Jan 13th 2016 - Mailed our reply to the 221(g) to the US Embassy, received and CEAC updated the next morning


Jan 20th 2016 - Embassy require more in-depth info on asset for i-864


Feb 1st 2016 - Sent more in-depth info on assets as requested. Received the next morning


Feb 16th 2016 - Visa has been issued :dancing: :dancing: :dancing: :dancing: :dancing:



In the US


April 5th 2016 - POE Newark. No questions asked.


April 14th 2016 - SSN received


May 10th 2016 - First day at my new job :dancing:


May 27th 2016 - Green Card received


June 7th 2016 - Got my Texas driver's license

Thank you dwheels76. Your response makes me feel better. I told my husband when I divorced and why, I think that is enough,

Some of these questions sound extreme to me, I don't even remember my exes birthday nor know where he lives. Sounds like these are just ways to find out if someone is truthful or not.

I'm thinking maybe people scramble because they don't know the information and feel like they have to have an answer, so they make stuff up, resulting in a denial.

I think long as the Beneficiary knows. I have read many times here on VJ Beneficiary going to interview and being surprised at the "Did you know your husband/wife was married before"? and they didn't I think that's why they ask.

And also the communications we provide maybe there was conversations about an ex for a reason and the CO may want to know more or know how much do you or they talk to them. Just insight into how much we share.

2015 taxes aren't due until April 15, 2016. So no. What you submitted to NVC is fine.

I don't know the specifics of your embassy. You might want to ask in your countries forum. Let us know what you find out.
