I've seen a few comments recently about interview questions pertaining to previous marriages. I am the petitioner and my husband knows I was married before but we never got into any of details, as I like to leave the past in the past.

Should I be giving him more details for the interview? Do these questions come up often?

Great question K,

I and my current wife never discussed about my past marriage. She knows that i have been divorced before. Good thing that she never asked me. therefore I have no reason to tell her in detail why, how and when that happened, so we don't talk about it, and i think the past is the past, let it rests. Its history.

I am pretty sure CO may asks her, but she will answer how she feel and being honest about it.

All they want is honest answers.

You better discuss all the details about your previous marriage since the CO knows about it there's a high chance of asking about your past life. So better not take a chance!

When my husband had a K1 interview in 2014, he was asked the name of my ex and why we were divorced, so YES tell him.

My PD is July 09 2014 and I called today to ask for my interview, I was told I'm under CSPA review. I've submitted all forms and documents. Please does anyone have an idea of how long it'll take to review my case to get interview.

Great topic to talk before our interview is approaching.

I would tell my wife just to be calm, honest and answer all the questions that the CO may ask.

Unlike job interview, if you show some kind of motivations, desire or somewhat desperate to come to the US then you would face lot of troubles.

Yes, we all come this far for an interview and we want it to be right and done with it. Definitely, be prepare well ahead of time.

congratulations

thank you :joy:

Congratulations! :joy:

I love it when VJ members let us all know the results of their interview. I hate it when we become interested in another VJ member's progress, then the day of their interview they just vanish...no more updates, nothing more on their timeline, and we're left wondering if that person is okay.

Thank you, same herei think it is important to relate experiences which can help others in their journey

Congrats :)

Thank you :joy:

Did your husband know the details at the time of interview? Ughh, I hate to even think about it, never mind talk about it.

I wonder if, he truthfully answers I don't know, could we get denied for something like that?

APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!! Hubby had his interview this morning at Lagos Embassy and was approved....we are so happy and excited, according to my husband the interview went quick (2mins) he was asked a few questions. He also mentioned that the CO stated that the way I packed the documents was exceptional. My husband was asked the following and told to pick his visa up in 2weeks. He did mention that the wait was very long his interview was scheduled for 8am but didnt get interviewed until after 1pm

Who petitioned for you?

What does your wife do?

Where and what did you wife study in college?

What type of wedding did you do?

How many siblings does your wife have?

How many siblings before her?

How many boys and girls?

She asked for the original birth certificate and police clearance and told my husband that he is approved.

Hubby stated the lady was very nice and didnt even ask to see pictures or any of our correspondences.

congratulations ??? easy questions nice wish you happy life ?

K&K M, if you read Sekhvaruli's post about her husband's interview (which happened 2 days ago i belive), you'll see that they heard when another person was denied because he didn't knew anything about his wife's previous marriage.

I know it might be hard to talk about it, but is that a reason worth jeopardizing your wife's/husband's interview?
