Hi,

My fiance needs to bring someone to translate during his interview for K-1 fiance visa. What information does the embassy need to have in advance about the person that is going to do the translation? Does translator needs to be professional translator or my fiance's friend can translate?

Thank you...

All consulates will allow a visa applicant to interview in the native language where the embassy located, I was given the choice to pick which language to use during the interview and I picked the native language just to make sure there's no misunderstanding and the funny part was during the interview the office used single English word that I am not familiar with and she end up asking another officer what this word mean in my native language
