Is there any way to get an emergency travel permit before you have applied for AOS?

My dad just told me my grandma passed away and there's a funeral on Friday... I have no idea what to do. Please help :(

So sorry to hear of your loss.... you can apply for an emergency AP... you need to get an Infopass appt from your local service center to apply.

I was under the impression that no emergency AP without AOS being filed. Can this happen concurrently? I do not know.... InfoPass is the only way to know....

AP is an interim benefit. Therefore AOS would probably need to be filed.

There may be another means by which they can let you into the country.

Let us know what happens.

Might I recommend Senators and Congressional Reps. It seems like this would be a State Department issue and not USCIS

No. In your circumstances if you are not yet an adjustment applicant you have no basis for a travel permit, emergency or otherwise.

If you leave the USA your wife should file an I-130 for you to start the process for your next visa.

Agreed..

Sorry to say that this is rather bad timing for you..

You have a choice.. Miss the funeral or wait until a K3 or CR-1 visa comes around for you.. but an Emergency AP is not in the cards for you as you have not yet filed your I-485...
