Hey all.

I think all this time I've had a few things wrong as far as what I do once the NOA2 hardcopy arrives

After I get my case number from the NVC, do I (the petitioner) have to set up an interview here in the states?

I know she will have one in Australia but I've assumed all along that I will have one first before she schedules one in Sydney. I know she has all the other stuff to do (police, medical, DS160, fees, etc etc)

What is the process for me next? Do I not have an interview to do at this stage?

Hi Everyone newbie here!

Just need enlightenment about my case.

My Fiance is on his process for interview my only concern is that on my last 2015 income tax I am lacking $2-3k to meet the poverty guidelines only because I took vacation from work for NCLEX (nursing exam),

but if they would calculate my salary now I can pass the poverty guideline. Can Manila embassy accept/understand our situation and take co sponsor for now? Please help. Thanks!

My understanding is that now the petitioner fills out an I-134 affidavit of support and after that it's all on the beneficiary's court. The beneficiary does the medical and the ds-160 and then has an interview in their country and if they're approved they'll get the visa.

Ok cool. I already have the affidavit all done and other stuff that goes with it ready to go.

So it's all on her now eh? Finally. Haha

Keep in mind that a forum like this one is for initial bonding with others who are along the same timeline as you for initial processing. The initial application is the same no matter where in the world you are. But, having said that, once you get your approval (NOA2 text message or email), you should also check in with your country's sub-forum to get a better understanding of the process for the Embassy that you will be interviewing with, and to get direct answers from those who have completed the steps you are about to at the US Embassy - Australia.

Those in this thread, are applying from various Embassies around the world and there are different processes for each. So what works in Russian, Philippines or UAE may not work for those processing through the Australia Embassy. When you are at the VJ sub forum for all things dealing with the US Embassy in Australia most there will help answer your questions for the processing of your visa using their personal experience.

Link: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/146-australia-and-new-zealand/

Get the Australia K1 Embassy Letter (EL) at http://canberra.usembassy.gov/nonimmigrant-visas/appointment-checklist.html as this is your bible needed to complete and receive your visa. The required documents are included and use the EL as a check list. Once you have completed or gathered the required documents you'll be ready for your interview. If it is not on the Embassy letter, it probably is not needed.

Last but not least, READ the pages on the US Embassy website for you country so that you are up to speed.

http://canberra.usembassy.gov/

One last place to check for information would be the VJ Wiki found here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Special:AllPages

Good luck and God's speed.

For USEM, put together your financial packet as outlined in the Embassy Letter: EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT. You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support Form may be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner’s ability to be financially responsible for you. You may also be asked to submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134. Download Form I-134 at http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis.

Once you are at the interview, chances are very strong it will not be asked for. It is recommended that you have the documents completed but you probably will not be asked for it. Most have not been asked for the financial for 8 months now. We think it will not be asked but the EL still "recommends" it. You don't need a co sponsor. Just explain to the CO, and ONLY if ASK, then tell the truth about you taking some time off to finish your testing.

You're going to be fine.

BTW, are you familiar with my website where I walk you through the processing the K-1 visa in the Philippines? If not the link is below in at the red twisting arrow. Everything you need to know is there and it's FREE information.

Thanks and I do understand every embassy is different and I've been on the Aussie portal as well. There, unfortunately, isn't much action there to questions.

We have a dilema just a few days away from medical exam. My fiance's daughter mom does not want to allow the kid to go for the medical exam. We have already paid the visa fee. So if she doesn't get the medical this month she will not get her visa. Does anyone know if we will be able to use the visa fee for future processing I.e follow to joint? Meaning if the kid doesn't get physical before the interview, can the dad inquire about follow to joint for her within the year, thus we dont lose the payment already made.

Would this situation affect my fiancé visa process? Like would he get denied for not having his daughter's medical done?

I am so heart broken because I had a very serious conversation with the kid's mom and she agreed to allow us process the visa so we paid the fee and now she refusing to allow her daughter get the medical exam.

Any advice please!

Well if she doesn't allow the medical then she won't let the child immigrate anyway?

It will not effect your fiancé at all. You could bring her to there interview she just won't get approved before she does they medical. And it will kind of be a wast of money if her mom won't let her.

Try and contact the embassy and request the money back for the daughters fee.

Her dad can have her follow to join but if the mom won't do it then she won't be able to come.

Thanks. I called. Fees are nonrefundable. At this point we are willing to lose the visa money if that's the case. We just concerned whether this will be a reason for denial for my fiancé because the baby mom is being so negative after she agreed. She had a change of heart I guess. All I wanted was give the child a better life even though being away from the mother is hard but who knows.

It won't have any effect for him.
