For us UKers the next step is to find out when the NVC ships out the application to the Embassy. Once they receive it you can schedule your medical and also make sure to order your police certificate once you have a case number.

The next day call and they should have your case number by then

Oh yeah I know the next steps, I just meant... I assumed when they got the case I would get a case number automatically, didn't realise it would take a day or so to get the case together. So when I called and the advisor said "yes we've got it but there is no case number" I was like ... Ohh okay!

Got my police cert already just waiting for the packet 3 o schedule my medical etc etc

Im so happy,

I just check online and it show my case was approved on the 23

When my fiance did his police certificate last week they asked for the case number as the UK conducts a specific search for K-1 visas.

I did my police certificate and they didn't ask a case number... they just asked what the purpose of the police cert was for and I chose immigration. Did he do it by post or online?

I wasn't asked to provide this; I just indicated it was for a US Visa; nothing requesting case number.

And I received it a week later, this being the ACRO police certificate.

I wasn't either, there was no where to put a case number. I did the same as you. Just clicked it was for U.S immigration purposes and a week later I got it. Good luck in your journey!

I thought once case is in the embassy, the only thing you do is just scheduling interview and bringing all the documents there.

The information seems to me to be old. But to me, it makes sense that one should not have to pay so using INFOpass would sound like a good judgement call. I can't vouch with any certainty, that you would receive a RFE if it were not included or at best a denial, but I sent my AOS documents with the NOA2 and did not receive an RFE or an interview. Personally, I still recommend it and since it is a simple INFOpass appointment, I would go with that.

Once you have your case approved, you can complete the DS-160. You don't have to wait for your case to be ready. Just bring the print out of the confirmation page with the bar code to your interview.

Based on that link, the information on the NOA2 is required, but can be supplemented with the K-1 Visa located in the Passport. Ultimately what you can do if you're concerned with paying the $405 to file for a new NOA2 is to continue on as planned. Arrive, get married, file for AOS. If they won't accept the Information from the K-1 Visa, then you will get an RFE and will need to pay the $405 and request a new NOA2 to be mailed.

Do I need to tell him to send me a new one?

You don't need a new one. You can fill it in with black ink neatly and the document will still be accepted.

Called NVC this morning. Asked for receipt number, then asked for notice date. (Feb 17) Soon as I told her the date she went into the script speech of waiting for 35 days. Never asked for petitioner or beneficiary names. Is that more or less what you all experienced?

The first time I have called NVC, the operator asked me whats receipt number and I gave it. Then she replied me to wait for 35 days. The next time I called, she asked my name, the petitioner and beneficiary's name as well as my birth date then she gave me our NVC case number. I believe that they only ask more details if the NVC case number has been received/ created in their system.

If they gave you the 35 Day speech, it is because your information has not been received yet. Please allow them 10 business days from NOA2. I would start calling them asking for your case number on 03-02-2016 which is 10 business days from your NOA2 date.

Hi all,

I have couple question regarding proof of on going relationship, such as chat logs phone call record....

as for chat log we use skype, which format should we printed it out and it's acceptable by the officer that doing the interview?

1. screenshot the skype screen and print out ? (that alot of screenshot and printout)

2. print out as text which include date and time stamp? (this will save alot of paper about 1/5 comparing to screenshot)

and on facebook can i just capture the messenger windows only, or full browser windows ?

Anyone that been through are going to prepare for it please let me know

But they told him that it is still in NVC for processing. And I wonder what does it mean?

Nothing out of the ordinary, they are just processing the request.

You can check the status on this website to stay up to date, because the NVC does not notify you like USCIS does.
