Can anybody who might know about the RFE process possibly answer a question?

Is an RFE issued pretty much after everything has been investigated and they have a question or is it one of those things where they've done the vetting but they have one more thing to ask?

I'm being pretty positive that once they get mine back, it's simply going to be approved but my fiancé is being pessimistic and thinks they JUST started looking at it.

I got the RFE right at the time it would have been approved. I'd love to put her mind at ease.

They can't know if the response to the RFE will open up new avenues of investigation or further RFEs. It is safe to say though, that they will request everything they know to be missing in one RFE, instead of immediately closing their eyes when they find the first thing they need to request.

USCIS is actually oblivious to the fact that there has been processing times of only 40 days. They claim nobody gets it in 40 days. I've also heard that, "There is no 2nd NOA" from a USCIS agent. What do you say to that?

Anyway, it's coming anyday now, that 2nd NOA :)

Thanks !! FYI, my first indication was from the App (via the website), then about 10 - 15 minutes later, the text message and email came.

Typically everything is vetted and that is the last bit of information they need. Of course, that is of course if the answer to the RFE satisfies the adjudicated, thus moving your case to approval stage and not more investigation. Doesn't normally happen.

i am just wondering what could be going on i am looking on the case status and search and see so many i-129 filed after mine that are already approved do some countries approve faster or slower then the next i just dont get it why or what would be taking so long with mine

No one can say for sure why your file is taking so long. You could be the next one up but because the case before yours that the agent is working on is preventing them from completing and getting over to yours. Or, there could be something that is in the vetting that is taking a little longer to process. Don't know. Just have to have more patience.

Same here. Over 30 NOA2's in less then 40 days. Then USCIS says Cali service center is 5 months.

I feel you guys - we're not too bad on NOA2 so far but our NOA1 took a while - 2 weeks and seeing other NOA1s in less than a week was so frusrtating. I guess it was good grounding for the NOA2 waiting game. I've decided to only look at the ones before mine and not after otherwise I'll go crazy seeing receipt numbers after mine approved!

It probably doesn't mean much but I did a search of the 300 receipt numbers before mine and of the I129Fs, one got approved today and there are 4 left before ours with status received. The rest are either approved or RFE. I'm not even looking at receipt numbers after ours anymore.

I think it's better for the psychology this way lol. Also just grateful they're being approved relatively quickly given the months some people who applied earlier have had to wait for Texas applications. I am truly just lucky we applied when we did as we could have applied earlier but we're both procrastinators :-) We had braced ourselves for the 9 month wait so feeling lucky it shouldn't be that long - hopefully!

???? yeeeess!! Got Noa2 hardcopy today (17th) , approved on 10th!!!

So glaaaddd!!

Congrats!!

Just to update--called NVC today and after a very long wait, I was able to find out the case was received by the NVC but still no case number yet--yay but not so yay! So at least now I can stop worrying that even though someone at the USCIS dropped the ball on updating their systems, they still sent out our approved documentation and it's all there.
