Greenbaum or somebody.

Somebody who's not on these forums asked me to ask a question. Here's her issue.

She sent in her petition a few weeks ago but never heard back at all. No NOA1, no case number.

Thing is, the petition was sent back to her rejected. I took a look and sure enough, she'd written the check out to Dept. of Homeland Security instead of Department. I think that's why it was rejected because I went through the whole thing and found no other reason.

If it never got a case number, did it ever get in their system? She'd written to lockbox support and they claimed there was no record of her petition ever being received. Even with her and her beneficiaries name.

Can she just send in another with the check properly written this time and have the other one not effect this one?

Once you have your case approved, you can complete the DS-160. You don't have to wait for your case to be ready. Just bring the print out of the confirmation page with the bar code to your interview.

Anyone from here who got their approved NOA via uscis tracking case app but did not receive a text notification or e-mail? I have checked the uscis app and it was approved on 22nd January 2016 but until now we haven't received yet the hard copy of NOA2. It's been 8 business days has gone but no mail yet from uscis. Or at least text or e-mail :cry:

I think it's up to 10 business days but if you signed up for text alerts, it odd you never heard anything.

If it doesn't come by Friday, I'd call

I think it's up to 10 business days but if you signed up for text alerts, it odd you never heard anything.

If it doesn't come by Friday, I'd call

We signed up for text notification & e-mail as we got the notifications thru text when we got our NOA1 but unfortunately for NOA2 no e-notifications at all. I will ask my fiancé (Petitioner) to call USCIS if we don't get the NOA2 hard copy until Friday. Many Thanks!

July 29, 2016 - AOS, EAD & AP NOA1s hardcopy received
August 05, 2016 - Biometric Appointment Letter received (it was sent on 2nd Aug)
August 15, 2016 - Biometric Successfully Done within 20 minutes at Southpoint Jacksonville
September 21, 2016 - EAD and AP APPROVED via USCIS case status (Sept. 21 in the morning, EAD status was "NEW CARD BEING PRODUCED" and same day in the evening EAD and AP = APPROVED :dancing: )
September 26, 2016 - EAD and AP Approval Notice Hardcopies Received by Mailbox
October 5, 2016 - EAD case changed to CARD WAS MAILED
October 11, 2016 - Combo Card (EAD/AP) status changed to CARD WAS DELIVERED TO YOU BY THE POST OFFICE
October 11, 2016 - Combo Card received :) when I checked our mailbox at 4pm
October 12, 2016 - Went to SS Office and changed my name to married name
**No Interview for I485 :dancing::idea::dancing:
November 17, 2016 - Green Card status APPROVED and in the afternoon it changed to NEW CARD IS BEING PRODUCED :dancing:
November 23, 2016 - Card was mailed to me
November 25, 2016 - Card was picked up by USPS
November 26, 2016 - Green Card received in the mailbox : :dancing:

Congratulations!! Our NOA1 date is 2 days after yours so hopefully we'll also hear something soon.

My petitioner has not received yet a mail or email from NVC that our petition has been forwarded to US Embassy in Manila. BUT, using CEAC case tracker, it's already in a READY status last Feb 2. Will the CEAC status be useful enough to start everything? How long will my petitioner receive the NVC notice that it has been received in MAnila?? thanks in advance! :)

Yes. I was was wondering the same thing. Has anyone received a hardcopy letter from NVC with case numbers on it? Our case shows ready in Manila as well on the CEAC tracker. I need a hardcopy to obtain police report from Hong Kong. Was wondering what the lag time is between NVC sending the case and getting a hardcopy to the petitioner.

(Day 18) Aug 22,2016 Received hard-copy NOA 1

(Day 23) Aug 27, 2016 Received biometric appointment letter via US mail.

(Day 33) Sept 6, 2016 Biometrics Complete for both the K1 and K2

(Day 102) November 15, 2016 EAD status changed to "New Card Being Produced".

(Day 102) November 15, 2016 AP status changed to "Approved".

(Day 104) November 17, 2016 EAD status changed to "Card sent via USPS".

(Day 111) November 21, 2016 EAD delivered via USPS.

Approved on 1/20/16 called NVC yesterday and got case number,invoice and beneficiary ID checked ceac and states "ready." Everything is moving so fast now!!! Hopefully will hear from the embassy in Ghana for fiance interview.

She works at St. Vincent's and has to have police clearance anyway so she's already hit what she needs.

And since she works at a hospital, the medical will be a snap too. She's a doctor.

Just remember when it comes time for the medical, just working at a hospital is not enough. The Embassy has a specific list of hospitals that the medical exam must be performed at, and for Australia they have a specific list of physicians that are authorized to perform the exams.
