After getting our case number/manila case number can the beneficiary accomplish the ds160, medical schedule and interview or we must wait for the letter of appointment or until they sent it to Manila?? As far as i understand the info links and articles pasted in this thread, once we got our case number via phone call in NVC we can push through those steps? Ive read others made it as early and did short cuts to save time, but when's really the best time to sign up for ds160 and schedule medical and interview?

Thanks in advance!

Question again regarding ds-160 part 5 security question:

"Are you a health care worker seeking to perform such work in the United States but have not yet

received certification on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools or from an equivalent approved

independent credentialing organization?"

This is very confusing.

I am a registered nurse in the Philippines so wether i answer No to this they might not believe i wont be performing health works in the US. While if i answer YES, i might as well get the same impression of dishonesty?

Thanks again!

By the time that you complete the DS160, the medical and CFO your case will be at the Embassy ready for interview. As far as i understand the info links and articles pasted in this thread, once we got our case number via phone call in NVC we can push through those steps? Yes, that is the key to moving this faster is to call NVC and get your MNL# (case number for others). You will need this to start your processing of the above stepts. Ive read others made it as early and did short cuts to save time, but when's really the best time to sign up for ds160 and schedule medical and interview? After you get your MNL# from NVC you can do those items plus a lot more steps are needed. NBI CFO CENOMAR etc.

Thanks in advance!

If you use my website you'll have no problems processing through USEM. But you have to take the first step and see what is all about. All you questions from your post are answered there with examples and step by step walk through. Your wasting time. Link is below in my signature at the red twisting arrow. Go to the NVC to USEM tab and start at the top of the drop down menu. Move step by step through each of the steps in the menu.

IT's FREE!!

If she returns to the Philippines she will have to complete CFO before departing the Philippines AND she can fly from MNL to LAX without stopping in HK.

Are you expecting an RFE?

To better serve you when answering your question(s) can you complete your VJ Profile. To do so go to the upper right hand corner, select your name and under your name chose "my profile". Next under your picture you choose "Edit my Profile". Under profile settings scroll to the bottom of the page and you see two areas (Profile Information and Immigration Information) that accommodates vital additional information to help others in their reply to your question(s). Without it, the replier may just move on and not give you the answer because they have to "work" to get that needed information.

The answer is sometimes predicated on that additional information. Their time is valuable.

Thank you and good luck on your journey.

Question again regarding ds-160 part 5 security question:

"Are you a health care worker seeking to perform such work in the United States [YES] but have not yet

received certification on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools or from an equivalent approved

independent credentialing organization?" Have you received certification from a independent crediting organization or from Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools? If yes the your answer is YES, if no the your answer is NO.

This is very confusing.

I am a registered nurse in the Philippines so wether i answer No to this they might not believe i wont be performing health works in the US. While if i answer YES, i might as well get the same impression of dishonesty?

Thanks again!

I think you may have that backwards Greenbaum...

have not yet

received certification on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools or from an equivalent approved

independent credentialing organization?

I think the answer should be flipped. If you have received a certification from GFNS or an independent crediting organization, then your answer would be "no." If you do not have a certification, then your answer would be "yes," unless you don't want to work in health care when you come to the US.

From my reading of the question, there are 2 parts to the logic - if you intend to be a health care worker, and if you have a recognized certification.

Reasoning:

Health care worker [Yes], HAVE NOT received certification [No] --> NO

Health care worker [Yes], HAVE NOT received certification [Yes] --> YES

Health care worker [No], HAVE NOT received certification [No] --> NO

Health care worker [No], HAVE NOT received certification [Yes] --> NO

I admit though, I am a newb to the process, and the question is worded badly. I think it hinges on the "have not yet" clause, regardless of the rest. Since you are an RN, and unless I am completely mistaken, then you have a recognized certification and license from the Philippine Nurse's Board, and a bachelor's degree, correct? I believe both of those would qualify as "equivalent approved independent credentialing organization"....

Maybe as part of security question in terms of k1 visa is, would my purpose in applying for a k1 is to look for a job as a nurse or to get married? I agree with your reasoning though, i've also read another thread they answered NO to this part (the beneficiary is a nurse also). her purpose of applying for a k1 is to get married and not to seek healthcare employment once in the US. While i also agree witt Greenbaum, i have not undergone any Certification from a foreign nursing body yet, but i am a health worker. Geeeezz im confused. ??

I agree the question is very confusing as worded. In the end it makes no difference. I would answer "no" because you are pursuing the K-1 because you want to get married. If you find a job later on that includes health care, then no big deal. Never heard anyone who has immigrated to the US get booted from this country for or penalized if they did in deed get a job in the health care industry after marriage. Just doesn't happen. The question is very illogical and confusing.
