By getting your case number from NVC (you should wait 7-10 business days before calling to give USCIS enough to get the file to NVC and for them to enter it into the system thus creating the case number) you save about 4 weeks of wasted time waiting for the email or mail notification for your number. Check with your requirements at you Embassy and see if you can move things along. The main item everyone is trying to is to schedule and appointment and then complete the medical.

Here is my boilerplate answer for when you receive your NOA2.

Keep in mind that a forum like this one is for initial bonding with others who are along the same timeline as you for initial processing. The initial application is the same no matter where in the world you are. But, having said that, once you get your approval (NOA2 text message or email), you should also check in with your country's sub-forum to get a better understanding of the process for the Embassy that you will be interviewing with, and to get direct answers from those who have completed the steps you are about to at the US Embassy - Australia.

Those in this thread, are applying from various Embassies around the world and there are different processes for each. So what works in Russian, Philippines or UAE may not work for those processing through the Australia Embassy. When you are at the VJ sub forum for all things dealing with the US Embassy in Australia most there will help answer your questions for the processing of your visa using their personal experience.

Get the Australia K1 Embassy Letter (EL) at http://canberra.usembassy.gov/nonimmigrant-visas/appointment-checklist.html as this is your bible needed to complete and receive your visa. The required documents are included and use the EL as a check list. Once you have completed or gathered the required documents you'll be ready for your interview. If it is not on the Embassy letter, it probably is not needed.

Last but not least, READ the pages on the US Embassy website for you country so that you are up to speed.

01/02/2016: NOA1 hard copy received

Had to call the numeber as it said if any mistakes please call they never had my gf country of birth just said unknown so i gave the info and hope it wont slow it down

Don't expect to have your NOA2 before the 30 day window between NOA1 and NOA2 has elapsed. It's rare that it happens. So stop freaking out. Remain calm. Have greater patience as this journey is going to drive you nuts otherwise.

Three years ago when we were processing it was taking 90-120 days minimum before we saw our NOA2. Your lucky that it is now 30-45 days.

I am thinking ahead (crossing finger for approval soon to start getting things ready) but anyone can tell me if my fiance's daughter mother would have to sign any official document needed for the interview etc. she is a very difficult person to work with and I really would like to be ready to request what is needed from her to allow the kid get the visa with her dad if approved.

Dominican Baby Momma's don't get along with me lol. What is she saying about the whole process? My fiance would like to bring his son here eventually, but the son's mother hates me with a passion, so that will never happen for me. I did ask him about how child support and stuff works in the DR.. he just said it's not really a legal issue like it is in America, if the father/mother sends money, and the child is taken care of, that's all that matters (even though they won't come lock you up if you're not a decent human and don't support the child) Random, but what city is he from? I feel like I toured half of the country this week

Lol. Some women just jealous because Baby dad found love... Hahahaha he is from Moca. Near Santiago prolly you been there already. Hope u having a good time out there. I go next month to be with my baby!!!! But she is not saying much. She just doesn't want to see him with no one that he is happy. Even though she married someone else. I am afraid we pay fees Etc and then she refuse to let her travel.

Well it appears someone was burning the midnight oil at the CSC. We got our Approval notice at 10pm via text, and then the approval email followed at 10:20pm.

Recent filers are being routed to the California Service Center, but ultimately you don't know where it will be processed until you receive your NOA1.

The address at the bottom left part of my noa 1 is the address in california and says California service center. Does this mean my paper is being processed at california? I didnt received any email/text or hard copy material thats says any transferring of my case. I sent the papers to lewisville address in texas. Its been over a month

Yes, you are being processed by the California Service Center. the Lewisville, TX address is just the Lockbox, all petitions are sent there, then they distribute them to the Service Centers.
