Alot of you guys got the packet accepted and 2 days later received the email/text. It took 3 for mine. Think that means anything?

When was your petition received and when did you get your e-notification?

I honestly wouldn't worry about a day difference since anything could be the cause (weekend, too many petitions that day, network issues, etc)

Good luck

Petitoner's surname was misspelled in our NOA1 hardcopy after the abbreviation "c/o" received yesterday.

It goes something like this:

An example of what's written on the receipt:

John VARMAC ----> correct spelling

c/o John VACMAR ---> misspelled

Address:##########

Is this something we must be alarmed or worry about? We'll call the USCIS on monday for peace of mind.

Thanks!

OK I saw your video again, and I definitely think you need to have a new photo. The requirement said: the photos must have white background. I don't see the white background,

I would just go to CVS or Walgreens and take a picture again. It took 5 min and costs ~$12.

Since it would be tricky for your fiance, i would ask him to send you the digital file (as long as it has white background) and bring it to CVS and ask them to print passport type photo.

Good luck!!

Thank you peterjk I was concerned about my passport photo as well, his background is white, mine seems off white now in comparison. My passport expires in March 2016, im definitely going to be renewing it, im just not sure how long that takes. As far as my birth certificate goes, my mom said that's all she was given, it's one sided.. Im not sure if I can go to the health department and pay for a copy? I'm just ready to send the packet off. The anxiety is killing me!

Hi All,

Sorry, I'm a bit delinquent in registering on VJ and setting up my timeline..but..finally managed to find some time this evening to accomplish that.

Timeline so far:

11/30: I-129F sent to Dallas Lockbox

12/2: Received Date

12/4: Notice Date. Text notification rec'd 6:32pm w/receipt #

12/4: Email rec'd - case assigned to CSC

12/11: NOA1 hard copy rec'd

Good luck to all :star:

I'd like to add that there is a way to put your timeline so that it is visible each time you submit a reply or question. If you see below in my "signature box" is items that I have entered. Here are the instructions. Experiment and have fun.

Go up to the far right and click on your name

Select "my profile"

Under your picture on the right side column select "edit my profile"

Go down the list and select "signature"

Next screen there are two boxes over each other one says "My current signature" and the bottom box says "Edit Signature"

Go down to the lower box and begin to design your "signature"

Most use it for putting their timeline so others can quickly see which stage they are in.

Have fun.

I made a video of everything that I put into my packet. I plan on sending this packet off in the morning or on Monday (if my mother's copy of birth certificate isn't sufficient)

I'm going to attach the link to my youtube video below. If anybody is bored or has time, could somebody give me some kind of feedback as to whether or not I have done everything correctly?

Thanks in advance!!

Megan

USCIS likes to have binder clips and paper clips for packaging pages. Binders are a no no as they slow the process down including the use of plastic insert pages. Keep it simple.

My mistake. I was getting ahead of myself.

Question though. If you've been divorced, do you need to put any proof of divorce in the petition (such as court docs) or will they just check that out anyway?

All marriages, prior visa applications and divorces must be annotated on the I-129F form.

It's just a typical entry mistake. It's not something to be concerned about and don't bother calling. Just follow your NOA2 and see if it is again misspelled.

I think someone was retyping the information and as well all do we read but spell what's in our memory. I have a last name that when someone retypes it is transposed from Eyb to Eyeb because it is pronounces "eye"berg. Just follow your paperwork and see if it is misspelled in the documents that are important. NOA's are not that important. Your main record needs to be correct and you will see that used through out the process.

Thank you, I'm changing my passport pictures today as well as no more binder. Did anybody else submit a one sided mothers copy of the birth certificate? That's the only birth certificate I've ever had. I really just don't want a rfe or delay. Congrats to everybody that got any exciting news this week!

I was born in 1962. The one and original birth certificate was just a single-sided card. That's what I submitted

If there's only one side that's all you need.

Getting the NOA1 isn't that exciting lol, basically just means hey we got your money now suffer the next month or so while we slowly process your petition.

It's like hell, waiting for the NOA2, everything is on fire
