Hi everyone

I also file for my fiancé in December. Our approval expires in June. NVC send our case to the consulate of Algiers where my fiancé is. We created a profile. We check our case status under immigrant visa. Its READY. It says created on 3/3/2016 and updated 3/20/2016. We have been calling the embassy of algiers. They say the case is not updated to email IV-DVAlgiers@state.gov. I did. I still haven't receive any responses. This waiting is frustrating. My fiancé is checking the post office and his emails everyday.

If it's saying ready why are they saying they haven't received it? Ready means they received it and ready to continue the process? The next step would be medical and and interview right???

Now that he is in the US you can now take advantage of my website starting with this tab http://dennyeyberg.wix.com/filipino-am-visa#!i-94/cbm6. Work your way down the tab. Once completed, work your way down the next tab.

thank you very much, i have the page bookmarked. He arrived in the states on April 11 at night. we went to the social security office one week from his arrival (April 18). The first woman we spoke to said I don't think we can give him a SSN because he hasn't been in the states for 2 weeks, the woman in the next cubicle said, oh no they changed it they have to be in the states for 10 days now. I asked to speak to someone higher up, and she was like "what are you guys talking about, it's almost instant now there is no 10 days or 2 weeks wait anymore" So now we are waiting the 2 weeks for it to arrive in the mail, we go talk to someone for marriage counseling next week, then we will apply for the marriage license!

NVC said the consulate of algiers will contact my fiancé. My fiancé is waiting for his package 3. We try to schedule the appointment but we keep getting an error message when we get to stage 8. I have send everything he will need and the affidavit of support for him to take to the interview. He also did his part too to gather all his documents. We have everything ready but no package, no email from the consulate

My guess that all K-1 visa cases are the same administrative wise. So I am curious but did u filled out the DS-160. In our case, from Doninican Republic, my fiancé filled out DS 160, then created profile, from the profile printed a receipt to pay visa fee at a local bank then the next business day we went back to profile to schedule the interview and fingerprints appointment etc

Yes we fill out the DS-160. We got a confirmation. We updated his profile, but can't schedule his interview. He has to pay for his visa at the embassy when he has his interview. It seems like Algeria is different. We have everything ready and all we can do is wait. The wait is very frustrating.

The latest I have heard is that you can go down to SSN the next day upon arriving and your file should be in the "SAVE" database by then allowing you to get a SSN. You did the right thing climbing up the ladder of command. All that matters is that he is in the SAVE database and if so they can issue the SSN.

Since I don't know all the steps you have accomplished so far I must ask if you have been to the Embassy's website and followed their directions in scheduling an appointment. Details are here: http://www.ustraveldocs.com/dz/dz-niv-paymentinfo.asp

Finally our Visa has been approved and shows 'Issued" today an closes a chapter in a book that I hope will have many more chapters to come here in Cali. I really appreciate the help and the few questions that was answered along the way from you all. No one said it would be easy and it wasn't so now the future is here, bottom line it's all about Love nothing more ,nothing less..... this is why we are all here....... Anyway I am going to see my favorite sport of baseball this Saturday and enjoy with my friends but I will reflect on our hard work getting this process done and maybe shed a tear or two secretly but I will have a great time knowing in a few weeks Joan will be by my side cheering too. Thanks again...... :content:
