Hello everyone,

My wife and I went through the same thing most of you guys are going through right now with K-1 visa and with the help of Visa Journey community, the process was a breeze...My wife is UK citizen and I am US citizen. We are married and living in the US at the moment with 2 kids. It's been 6 years since my wife moved here to be with me and now we decided to move back to UK where she is from. So, we have some questions about UK spousal visa...I have downloaded all the necessary forms, however, they don't really answer all of our questions...

We are basically using the form FLR(M) application and there are other things that need to be proved, such as financial requirement and adequate housing.

The main question for us what is the best way to apply for this visa, from US, from inside the UK, what is the process for this because on the application it's not well explained, other than you can apply from outside the UK or inside UK. If we apply from inside the UK, how do I enter the UK? Do I enter as a tourist (US citizens can stay up to 6 months) then apply over there to stay permanently? Do I have to mention anything at the airport? Or, do I have to apply from the US, then enter the UK? We are all moving as a family and have a place to stay there with my wife's parents, so my wife and kids don't have any problems going there because they are UK citizens...Another question that we have is, do my wife and kids have to be in the UK before I get there for 6 months? Or, we could go there all together as a family?

Also, for the adequate housing, we read that we have to live in a place just by ourselves, nobody else, so our question is, would it be ok to live with my wife's parents until we find a different place?

These are the questions that are a bit hard to find the answers to...if there is anyone out there that knows a little more about this, please help, we would greatly appreciate it!

Thank you!

Pretty sure that is the wrong form, you need a Spousal Visa.

Are you using savings to meet the financial requirements?

Hopefully your wife got her US citizenship so you have no problem with her losing her greencard, depending on how long you intend to live in the UK. If she is a USC, then you can easily move back without going through the US Visa process again.

There is a link in my signature regarding moving back to the UK that might be able to point you in the right direction, or at least help you with some of the answers you have. It's more of a place dedicated to UK specific immigration questions. As far as I'm aware, according to the new rules you must apply outside the UK before you are even allowed to enter.
