Hi everyone, I have been seeing the AOS cover sheets on Visa Journey, and I noticed that some people have sent in a copy of BOTH the intending immigrant's birth certificate and a copy of the U.S. citizen's birth certificate. Is this necessary? Or is the birth certificate of the intending immigrant sufficient? Just to let you know, my fiancee came here on a K-1 visa and we're in the process of setting up her AOS package. Thanks

Thanks. Being that I'm the US Citizen, do I also have to send in a copy of my passport (biographic page)? What else besides a copy of my birth certificate do I have to send in? I know I have to send in the I-864 and the supporting documents, but anything else I'm missing? Thanks again.

You don't need to send in the passport if you send in the birth certificate.

When you send in the initial paperwork they just ask for the Non USC birth cert, and proof of the USC's citizenship (passport). For the interview they ask for both certificates, although they only looked at our passports in the interview today - nothing else at all! Not even the marriage certificate...
