Hi everyone,

I lived in the UK for 9 months back in 2000. I did not spend more than 4 months in any one country (I visited England, Ireland and Scotland). What do regarding a police clearance certificate? Am I required to get a clearance certificate from the UK (if that's even possible because they're different countries) for my K1 visa interview? I cannot find any reference to this on the internet. Thank you in advance for any advice given.

My apologies for the typo - I meant to write, 'What do I do regarding a police clearance certificate'?

Ireland is not part of UK. So you will have to get a seperate police record from there.

I think your Uk police record covers all regions.

I thought you only had to provide a police certificate from countries you resided in for more than 6 months for K1? In fact our embassy chekclist says "resided in for more than one year".

I don't believe visiting for a few months counts.

Best of Luck!

My apoligies, I meant Ireland and Northern Ireland. I did not stay in either one of these countries for 6 months, but collectively stayed in the UK for 9 months. So I was wondering if there was a PCC that covers the UK as a whole.... Thank you for the feedback!

You get your UK police cert from ACRO.

From memory I think you list al the places in the UK you lived. North Ireland - yes. Republic of Ireland - no. England and Scotland - yes
