I see...

Perhaps I am not in this country long enough to experience that. And I intend to be on the Right side of the law ALWAYS.

I come from a country where we do respect the laws and authorities, not that our justice system is 100% perfect.

So my experiences are vastly different from yours.

Hey is it true bubblegum is banned over there and that you're legally required to flush a public toilet?

Singapore bans import of chewing gum. So nobody is selling it, except for medical chewing gum (which I don't know what is that)

But one could still buy chewing gum in small quantity overseas and take back to Singapore for personal consumption.

You can get fined for not flushing public toilet. But hey, nobody is going to seriously looking over your shoulder to see if you flush the toilet or not.

lol yeah...I know they like to keep things very tidy and neat and clean there. You'd face a steep fine for spitting that gum on the street wouldn't you. My dad's a CFO and these days seems in the company he currently works for the trend is mainly S. Korea(lost count how many times he's gone there in the last few years) but a couple decades ago where he worked at the time did alot of business with companies in Singapore. He went there many many times sometimes by himself sometimes with my mom so I got to see lots of pictures and videos. I'd love to go there myself one day. At the time it was the early days of burning movies on CDs and before I did it myself he would buy it there for real cheap and bring home for us to watch. Or different electronic stuff like a new graphic card for our computer at the time which back then was alot cheaper in Singapore than in Israel.

But one has to wonder if all the development and tidiness comes at too large a cost to one's freedom.

awesome. but i don't really understand what you're trying to tell me. in this country, police cannot lawfully act as law enforcement, justice department and executioner. further, it is very difficult to prove wrongdoing by police when the entire department works to cover up said wrongdoing and or, the city foots the bill.

And I thought the police were called Judge Dredd

You mean this group shut down a highway? Post a link.

Took over the police precinct? Haven't seen it. Link please.

All these things you're saying BLM did, did this group do it? Because I read they were just sitting there protesting.

And I ask you, if they're not outstanding people, what about the group who shot them? I'm pretty sure they're just an outstanding bunch of law biding citizens.

Whoa.. the highway shutdowns [plural] made the national news for 2 days. Which news service do you watch on yer tv? I ask, cause a person would have had to be unplugged and off the grid to miss this.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Sure there's a few rogue cops here and there but most of them do their job on the best side possible. Cops are our neighbors, friends, and with some(my wife included) literally family.

The incitement against cops these days is getting completely outta hand.

That said, I really wish they would stop pulling me over and wasting my time for something silly like a headlight. Sure they only issue a warning and never a ticket(here anyway), but I've got better things to do with my time.

Catch the people that don't know how to drive, not the people that speed or have a headlight out.
