The shitty media hardly ever report what happened to the Domestic Violence Victim, except that the victim underwent a surgery for broken ankle.

if cops would stop executing handcuffed suspects, maybe the public could focus on issues such as domestic violence.

If only the suspects are smart enough to run away asap from the scene, instead of harassing the paramedics from treating the victim.

Then the police would not have been called. :content:

He was probably a gentle giant with his hands up trying to surrender

cops shooting suspects while they are handcuffed..hmm sounds like something we should encourage! cops don't get to shoot nearly enough people in this country..

You have proof that the cops shot him in handcuff?

of course not. i know that some witnesses say he was and the cops insist he wasn't. in he said/she said situations involving cops, i rarely believe the police account. they're infamous liars and well known for covering up for their own.

I see...

Perhaps I am not in this country long enough to experience that. And I intend to be on the Right side of the law ALWAYS.

I come from a country where we do respect the laws and authorities, not that our justice system is 100% perfect.

So my experiences are vastly different from yours.

awesome. but i don't really understand what you're trying to tell me. in this country, police cannot lawfully act as law enforcement, justice department and executioner. further, it is very difficult to prove wrongdoing by police when the entire department works to cover up said wrongdoing and or, the city foots the bill.

The newspaper calculated that between 2006 and 2012, the city paid out $14 million for alleged police misconduct. Despite that staggering sum, reviews very rarely found police had done anything wrong. Partly in response, Police Chief Janeé Harteau created a conduct-review office. (She also later convened a citizens’ advisory council.) In its first 439 cases, not a single one ended with an officer being disciplined. In 2014, 943 complaints were filed against the Minneapolis Police Department—or almost 1.2 complaints for each of the department’s 800 officers—though the number has been dropping.

I don't know why the US system is like that.

Yah, there is a problem with the police here. but that does not mean people can disregard the laws.

Basically, I see there is no trust between the police and people.

So how? Self-police yourself?

IMHO, I don't know why people want to be policeman / policewoman in this country and in this hate cops atmosphere today.

i don't really equate the need for law enforcement accountability with hating cops. i have friends who are cops, even one family member who used to be a cop. cops are people just like everyone else.

Police and people need to work together.

The biggest issue is cops have it ingrained that certain elements are criminalized from the get so when they show up on the scene the chance for an incident to take place will be greater.

I wanted to be a police officer in my youth, when I thought I could make a difference in communities.
