Hello everyone,

It's been awhile since we've looked to visa journey for help, but as we dive into the AOS paperwork there is a couple things we are having trouble with.

We have a majority of the forms filed out now, but with Advanced Parole - Josh, my now husband was reading and from what it looks like you'll only get it if you need to travel back to the UK for educational or emergency reasons? Is this correct?

We are starting to plan a trip back to England next summer as my husband has been asked to be the best man at his best friends wedding. Will we be allowed this trip? Or is AP truly for emergencies only?

Affidavit of Support, I still make just under what the USCIS requires for the support, so I know I will need to have a co-sponsor again. What paperwork do I need to send for the Affidavit of Support for AOS? Is it just very much similar to K-1... bank statements, bank info, paychecks, employer letter? Or do I need more proof and evidence this time around?

Thank you in advance for your help. :)

You--

I-864

Latest tax return. Order a transcript. It's better, condensed, and doesn't need a W-2 with it.

Since you don't qualify, you don't have to over-do with many proofs of not having enough. Maybe photocopies of 6 months pay stubs or an employer letter, whichever is easiest.

The joint sponsor--

I-864

Proof of being a US citizen or permanent resident

Latest tax return. Order a transcript. It's better, condensed, and doesn't need a W-2 with it.

Photocopies of 6 months pay stubs and an employer letter to be well covered.

Read the instructions that go with the I-864 so you don't miss the details they cover.

AP for AOS applicants isn't restricted to emergencies. Traveling to his best friends wedding will be absolutely fine.

You don't even need to include the anticipated travel dates or reasons on the I-131 - people applying for AP as part of an AOS package have used "N/A" or "Uncertain" and "Visit family" or similar with no issues. Getting AP so that he can be at the wedding will be less trouble than writing his best man's speech

Eighteen years in the US and I still don't understand Velveeta, TV ads for prescription drugs, only getting 2 weeks paid vacation, or why anyone believes anything they see on Fox "News".

Again, No.

When filing out the information on my federal taxes on the I-864, it asks for my gross annual income from my past 3 tax years. I have the paperwork for 2014 and 2013. But I cannot find my 2012 tax information and my parents don't seem to have it in there files either. Do I just leave this section blank then? And submit the transcript and or federal/W2/1099 for the 2014 tax year when sending in the affidavit of support along with my co-sponsor, or is important that the 2012 information is filed out as well?

Thank you,

Brittany

Don't leave it blank, and don't guess. You don't need to send copies of tax returns/transcripts for all three years, but you do need to provide the amount for gross annual income for each year.

Tax transcripts are free and take 5-10 days to arrive. If you can't find your 2012 return, that might be the easiest way to get the information you need. You can request them online here .
