Hi Everyone! please help if you have any experience with this. I called NVC today to see if my case would be complete. Instead the representative tells me that I'm going to get a check list, he stated that the file was missing (Beneficiary Passport, Birth Certificate, Our Marriage License, and Police Certificate) The problem is I included all of these documents. And it's alarming that they are saying that they are missing so many documents that were included. I've already requested supervisor review and I'm going to mail additional copies tomorrow as well. My issue is how can they be missing so many documents that were sent. Does this mean that they are missing all the evidence of relationship I included as well??? I'm so sad, I'm crying at work. This truly is devastating. I tried to do everything by the book, I'm just so confused and heartbroken that I'll have to wait another month... Has anyone been through this any words of wisdom/insight would be greatly appreciated.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Hi There

I'm sorry to hear about the problems

The same happened to me, they said they were missing my divorce certificate, which we knew was in the packet, anyway we couriered another copy to them, and heard nothing

Eventually my wife got through on the 'helpline' and once again they said they had recieved paperwork but not thr divorce cert...................argh

So my very patient wife got the supervisor to go throufg all of our file and lo and behold there it was!!!

My advice is call them and call again, get someone to check your file, I'll bet money its in there

Thank you DJ6372, on hold right now... my 3rd call today... I know all my documents are there. Desperately trying to get through to a supervisor. Did your case go into supervisor review? I'm actually going to request that they take me out of supervisor review I hear it takes longer.

NVC is a complete disaster, I have come to the conclusion that every morning they open a gate and 3000 monkeys fill the offices and go totally bonkers in there all day while flinging poo and papers all around. I had a similar issue a few weeks ago, ended up calling 4 times in one day, the first lady who answered the phone told me that we did not send any documents whatsoever to them ( we sent about 400 pages of documents) she then proceeded to tell me I should fire my lawyer.....really? now they give legal advice at NVC?.....she then told me that a scanned copy of a SEALED police report was good and I did not need to send the original....well that was a lie as well. I ended up calling back because the more I thought about it the more it pissed me off and I wanted to get her in trouble. long story short i was told disciplinary action was taken against her (probably no bananas for a week) and told that all of our documents are there and to send the ORIGINAL sealed police certificate. Keep calling one of the monkeys will figure it out soon I hope, good luck on your journey

Thank you Joshua@Tinz, I really appreciate you sharing your experience... I've called three time already today and I plan on calling several more times before the day is through. I really want to speak with a supervisor. It's insane that they are claiming that 4 docs are missing that I know for sure are there. That truly is alarming, I can't help but wonder about all the supporting docs I sent with flights and phone bills and all the pictures what happened to those??? Are they even in my file anymore.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to remove myself from supervisor review but I spoke to someone that seemed knowledgeable and she said to send in docs and if that is completed before supervisor review the sup review will be cancelled. I plan on mailing all the "missing docs." tomorrow. My fear was this happening that's why I triple checked everything before sending it. I even labeled all the docs that were sent. I can't believe this is happening. The wait for interview in Jamaica can be 2-4 months and I was just hoping that NVC would complete this part in a timely manner now I'll be waiting even longer for my husband to get here. I'm so frustrated, sad, devastated, you name it I'm feeling it right now...

Hello, I am so sorry for you having to go through this, this also happened to me. I also was devastated. I began to pray and went about getting all the information together again. I was told that all our papers had been lost. I began to call them all day everyday late into the night and I also emailed them until I was able to speak with someone. I was told that I could wait for them to locate the documents or that I could resend them all. I chose the latter. I resent them all and I sent them over night by express mail and I had someone to sign for them. I knew by doing it that way someone had to be responsible for getting them. I had to wait 30 days all over again from the date of them receiving the documents. It was stressful but the Lord will strengthen you throughout this entire process.

Thank you Jabumere! I'm going to resend all docs that they claim are missing tomorrow... Hoping that maybe if I get through to a supervisor they can pull my case and verify that everything is already there so that we don't have to wait the 30 days all over again.. I'm praying, and hoping for the best.

You are welcome, God is in total control!!! Please do not let this process discourage you it is all worth it in the end. This is a process that we as married couples should not have to go through, but thanks to others who did not follow the correct procedures our time takes longer. I know that you and I both will reap the blessing from this. My husband has his interview on Wednesday and we will continue to pray for all the people here on VJ. The scriptures say "what we make happen for others, the Lord will cause to happen for us"!!!!!

I finally got through to a supervisor (Octivio) (sp?). He said he'll request my file and will personally verify with there. He said he'll try to get it done as soon as possible, bUT he wouldn't guarantee a timeframe. I'm still going to mail docs tomorrow just to be sure. I'm really hoping and praying he can help, I hate to think about waiting anothere 30+ days when everything is already there. I'm just praying all will be resolved soon.

Jaimee I hope your husbands interview goes well on Wednesday! How amazing it will be for you guys to possibly share the Holidays together. Please let me know how it goes. Thank you again for all your well wishes, it truly is appreciated.

DJ6372, I'm really trying to not let this get me down, and I'm thankful to have found this site and people like you that make such a stressful process easier to cope with because I don't feel so alone. Thank you.

They said they didnt have one of my police certificate after they had told us they had reviewed out civil docs and asked us to submit DS260. We sent it again, 60+ more days to review it. At the time of interview, guess what: there were two copies of the "missing" police certificate, the old and the most recent one.

Well I mailed docs this morning priority mail, should be delivered by Friday due to holiday. I also requested signature on delivery so that I know for sure someone will have to take ownership for receipt. I'm hoping and praying this will all be resolved soon... Thanks again everyone for sharing your experience and kind words.

yes, the office in California flooded a few years ago and all my documents were ruined / this included a huge RFE weighing 25 pounds as my lawyer said it was the biggest RFE he ever had to do

all you can do is resubmit the documents / you have no choice if you want your case to continue / make sure now that you include your case number in the upper right hand corner of each and every page now that you know it / some say to also put full names of both and DOB there also

sorry this happened / it is one of the reasons my case took so long

Immigration should be run by people who know what they are doing but i seriously doubt it

good luck

I did reference my case number on docs, but didn't know where to put it so I actually just wrote it in on the upper left corner of each page... Since it's only 4 pages I'm hoping we wont' have anymore issues... Thanks Adil & Jeanne for sharing your experience.
