Sorry I know I've probably done this one to death but I thought I'd ask. My daughter is a US citizen so won't be needing a K-2 when I apply. She doesn't have to have any additional immunizations for immigration purposes. I am in the process of getting her Hepatitis B boosters (next 2 in Jan and Feb) and updating mine even though I don't need it for my application. Is there any reason why she would need a hepatitis A vaccine as it's not required by her school to enroll? I had only had it done for travel purposes before she was born so I'm not aware that she'd need it for any other purpose?

She doesn't need it for school/ immigration purposes (my US and foreign born kids don't have it).

Considering the way it is spread and how few people in the USA get it, it is totally personal choice.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

That's what I thought. I just got her the Hepatitis B vaccine because it said she needed it for our school district and it was the only other one apart from Chicken Pox that she needed. But she had Chicken Pox when she was a baby so she's immune.

The Hep A vaccination is only a concern if you live or plan on visiting places with it. I wouldn't bother with it.

Schools here just started requiring the Hep A vaccine this year. I think it's over kill our Ped even said we weren't at risk for Hep A in our area. I asked because I thought it was weird.

I did check the school district and it only said Hep B. Honestly I was a bit surprised since it's not standard here, but my SO explained and I guess it makes sense.
