:crying:WELL HERE WE ARE WAITING, WAITING FOR THE EMBASSY TO DO A BACK GROUND CHECK ON ME AS IT SLOWS DOWN TRYING TO GET TO MY HUSBAND TO BE BEFORE HIS FATHER PASSES AWAY FROM HIS STROKE. We have no idea what is going on how long this is going to take or even if I am going to get my visa at all now. Has anyone ever had to go through this before to have your file pulled to do a back ground check a investigation on you when your visa is to be expedited and your husband to be his father does not have long to live and wanting to meet him and him wanting to me. Not sure why my case was pulled for this check I have a clean back ground I do not owe any money never been in trouble, all I have done is work hard, go to collage and live with Moma and Popa my whole life why has this happen? :( How long will this investigation take will they let us know when it is done and what they find out this is so hard now not knowing anything to what is going on and why. We were both so happy when I pass my interview and making finial plans to finally touch each other again after such a long time apart WE WERE ON TOP OF THE WORLD WITH THE NEWS I PASSED THE INTERVIEW. But now we sit here to what to do next I gave up my job to go to the interview we both felt in our hearts I was going to pass and we would be together soon, but now where did background check come from, we both thought this was done before interview. :help:SO CAN ANYONE OUT THERE TELL US WHAT TO EXCEPT NEXT AND HOW LONG BEFORE WE HAVE TO WAIT BEFORE I JOIN MY HUSBAND TO BE. WILL I GET MY VISA AT ALL CAN THEY DENIE ME NOW WE DO NOT KNOW? PLEASE ANYONE OUT THERE CAN YOU HELP US? [/font]

Hello and sorry to hear that you are in AR/AP. This does happen alot and no one can expedite the processing or have anyone step up and ask for it to be processed any faster. The embassy is doing a background check to rule out fraud, to double check the accuracy of documents, or for security checks and it could be one or all things that they are checking. Once they are satisfied on all aspects of your case they will ajudicate the visa. Hang in there and hopefully it will not take too long for your AR/AP to finalize.

Mary

Could be lots of things. Was your name spelled correctly on all of your documents? This can trigger AR. It seems that if your name is mispelled on one of your official documents they will do background checks on that name also. They will also send for verification by the Phils government of documents sometimes. Did you have late registered Birth Cert? This also can trigger AR. And sometimes there seems to be no reason at all for it. I hope you get your visa soon. You can call the embassy at (63-2) 528-6300 X5184 and ask them how long it may take. From what I've seen on the Manila thread they tell people 4 to 6 weeks. Some have already been waiting 2 months though. Good Luck and God Bless.

Is this the part AFTER the interview?

I thought it was like at most a week after the interview that you get your visa?

Or is this AR/AP process before the interview date where the Consulate still processes your case and decides on an interview date?
