What gives? I pointed out a simple correction and now you are becoming uber defensive and making a mountain out of a molehill.

Your comment about RFE's clearly said that it would take longer to get a NOA-2 if they received an RFE. Nowhere did you say anything about a NOA-3. This is not an assumption, it's a fact.

My advice to them? It's the same advice I have for you: pay attention to details.

I came here to give friendly advice to someone and they seem satisfied and informed after I did so.

You talk about me making a mountain out of a molehill when you called me out about not mentioning something that is literally not even mentioned in the NOA wiki page of this site. (Here, you can check! http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Notice_of_Action_(NOA) )

As for my attention to detail I mean, I didn't get an RFE so it must be alright?

I just think you are making things unnecessarily convoluted. Especially when it's completely irrelevant to OP's original question.

Most people don't mention NOA-3's in their advice. I rarely see it mentioned on this site.

But thank your for calling me defensive and insulting my attention to detail, that's kind of you.

OP, if you need any more assistance throughout the process, feel free to send me a message or add me as a friend. Sorry for turning your post into whatever it is now, and I wish you luck on your journey~

Thank you for providing a link which proves my point. The wiki link says that a notice of action for an approved petition is "typically" called a NOA-2. Note the word "typically." However, as usual, wiki only offers very general information. The fact remains that if someone gets an RFE, that is their second notice of action, or NOA-2.

Regardless of whether any particular post answers the OP's question, responding to incorrect information in a post is always the right thing to do.

Sent the I-129F on Nov19, got the confirmation text & email today Nov25 (transfered to California), and when I updated the day of NOA-1 it says our estimated date of adjudication to be between June and August 2016! I see so many people getting their NOA-2 in like less than a month!

For the NOA-1:

That I-767 you will be getting in 7-10 is the NOA-1. This just means they have your case and are working on it.

For the NOA-2:

This is the actual acceptance of your petition.

As for how long it takes, it really depends.

Most people are getting theirs within a month. (Granted there are no RFE's of course.)

Ours took 26 days. October 1st NOA-1 to October 26th NOA-2.

Once you have your NOA-1 date you can update your timeline and it will give you an estimate of when you can expect your NOA-2.

Thank you for the helpful info Morgan

I see our case timeline is not far behind yours :)

We received the email (Acceptance confirmation) and a hard copy in the mail saying the same as the email with a receipt number they said they are sending our case to the California service center I am assuming that is the NOA1. We are still waiting for the NOA2 its been 3 weeks (Hopefully no RFE's)

What exactly is the I-797 Form?

Thanks in advance
