If any one is having a previous experience, please help !!

I applied for an immigration visa for my wife on March 2014. Our case was completed by the NVC on July 21st. We are done with everything and just have been waiting for an interview in the US embassy in Cairo over the past 4 months.

My daughter was born on September 2014, but I haven't apply for her as a separate petition as I read through the NVC website that you can add her directly during the mother's interview!! This was my plan, as I was afraid to start a new application that may take as long as her mother's petition!!

I called the NVC that asked me to call the USCIS to double check, and suddenly they told me NOOOOO, you can't do that as your wife's category is IR1 visa which doesn't allow adding another derivatives!! You have to start from the scratch!!!!

Now, what can I do?? Start another petition and wait another 1 year?!!!

Thanks in advance.

I read you mentioned the child doesn't qualify for CRBA if that' a case you need to file now a I-130 petition and request it be expedited and so it can be married up with your wife's. Sorry you didn't know this.
