Hi,

The affidavit was the last thing I am filling in before I send it all off and I have just realized I may have an issue.

I notice one of the fields is to fill in TAX return income for the last 3 tax returns. I have the latest one printed which shows my wife earns over the guideline amount and I plan to send that one in.

However, she cant remember what she earned for the last 2-3 years. I have ordered the transcripts for 2013 and 2012 but im worried she wont have earned enough 2-3 years ago.

I assume this will be an issue and I may need a co-signer? Am I right in thinking she has to have earned over the threshold for the 3 tax return amounts they require?

Any help would be great. I was literally ready to post this all today and now I feel like I may have a whole lot more to do

Thanks

The Total Income from the last 3 tax returns and the current annual income are two separate things, and have separate places to enter those amounts on the form.

If the current annual income is enough, then it should not matter that 2 of the last 3 years of taxes show she didn't meet the requirement. Current income is just that. It is not past income amounts. Also, send in proof of the current income with a letter from employer and/or recent pay stubs.

THanks. So why do they need to know the amounts from the previous 3 tax returns if they are really only interested in the most recent?

It is a requirement of a sponsor to have filed their taxes, if they were legally obligated to. Also, they do look at the totality of the sponsor's finacial situation, but meeting the current income requirement is the most important aspect. It is not a requirement to have met the income requirement for the last 3 years, just the current annual income.
