Hello my dear fellow VJ members.

As some of here might be familiar with my case. I am in the process of IR-5 and everything is on NVC now and scanned. I know, eventually during the interview, beneficiary needs to bring a set of copy of signed I864 (in my case, with I 864A since my spouse makes money in the household)

My problem is, .. Recently i found out husband is "back" on illegal drugs (i was the last one to find out) yes, BACK. They call it relapse and i dinot even know his past, that he was an addict for 20+ years, but he was cleaned for 10 years until he got back 4weeks ago.

I wont detail here the financial, emotional and mental torture im going through right now along with our 2 minor kids, im just wondering what are my options if i won't be able to get his signature for my mom's i864A since husband is gone now, he's been moving from a hotel to a hotel spending significant amount of money he worked hard for.

The more i want mother to come here asap so i can leave kids in safe hands and go get me a job that will support myself and kids.

Thank you all for the inputs.

while it is recommended to being another copy of the I-864 to the interview. Most likely the NVC will send everything to the embassy including the I-864 and the embassy will not ask for another copy. The embassy did not ask for another copy when my wife did her interview.

if you look at the interview letter there is a list of documents to bring with a letter code. For the I-864 it most likely states the NVC sent this document to the embassy.

Just make sure your mom has all her original documents that she will need for the interview. her NSO birth certificate, her nbi, she will probably need either a cenomar or a cemar

do not worry to much about the I-864 besides if you was to get his signature it would not be consider a copy of the one you sent to the NVC. It would be consider a new one with a new signature. A new I864 is not require unless your financial situation has change quite a bit

If the casefile is complete at nvc, why would a new i-864a be needed?

You write of 'this' as a required thing at the iv unit in manila, but...

Everything but the medical exam will travel from nvc to the iv unit in manila.

Whats going on?

Quote your info source, happy to vette it for you.
