Last Nov. 6, 2015; 730am, I had my K1 visa interview at the USEM. All went well and the consulate told me that everything looks good (referring to our documents submitted) and congratulated me. He didn't ask me for any additional documents nor gave me any papers or whatsoever. My visa was approved. It's been two weeks since my interview and I haven't got my passport yet. I've been checking on the ceac website and I input my case number in Immigrant visa application (which makes me confused 'coz my K1 application was Non-immigrant) it says my case status is Ready. The only thing changing in the status was the last date updated but it always say "Ready". I'm dying here waiting. I don't know what's happening to my application. I emailed the USEM and they said they can't say how many days i have to wait for my passport. All they said is that I'll get a notification from email or a text message if my passport is out for delivery.

Is it normal to take this long before i get my passport back? I'm planning to leave on January and I don't want my ticket to go to waste or pay for change of flight.

Anyone's opinion will greatly help. Please and thank you!

Anyone's opinion will greatly help.

In my opinion, the visa should be in hand before buying the plane ticket.

It's also my opinion that patience is a virtue.

It's my guess that you will have your visa malapit na.

Relax it has only been 7 working days since your interview. Remember weekends and holidays don't count (then there was APEC). Just be patient.
