I am sure they will appreciate anything...it is the thought that counts you know...but

Gift ideas that I have found to great:

Flavoured or fany name brand coffees

Chocolate anything

Perfume

Scented lotions and cremes

Interesting little kitchenwares for women (my dH's female relative just thought the vegatable peeler I borought was the best thing since sliced bread...their peelers suck)

Make-up (their stuff is so cheap and poor quality, they will love you with this one) And HINT: You can actually find deals at Walmart and Target, you donnot need to go to the Lacome counter, and also you can find name brand makeup like Covergirl and Revoln at the $store. (Last's yrs styles) I know last time I just got each woman a beauty case and filled it up with smaller bottles of scented cremes, foundation, eyeshadow (they are big on eye makeup) and lip colour. I spend about $8 with the case for each women and I was their best friend after that. =)

T-shirts with famous city names or sports teams for the guys

CDs (music is universal you know)

Shoes (if you really want to spend and know what to buy...another fab idea...the shoes there are cheap and sizes run small)

...

gum was my biggest hit!!! His sisters love gum so I brought superpacks of different trident flavors.

I outfitted my husband with all Red Sox gear!:dance::dance:

I've heard from other sources that the nylons are not that great over in Egypt..not sure about morocco but that also might be something to try and see if they like. Just regular L'Eggs would be good I think.

Bonnie Bell lip gloss was also a hit, in different flavors.

I brought finely grated Romano cheese and they had never tasted it before. He asked me to send some via the mail 'cause now he puts it on everything!

If I could I'd bring a microwave oven too but that wouldn't fit in the suitcase I don't think. lol

Hi everyone! I'm going to Morocco in two weeks to see my fiance and his family again!!! I always come bearing gifts ...but this time I'm running a blank on new ideas for things to bring everyone.

So far I bought a big scented candle for Abdou's mom. And I plan to bring a big tray of baklava and ma'mouls for them to try.

What could I get more for his mom? And maybe something small for his dad? And a gift for his sister.......

:help:

I'd bypass the baklava - Hamid says they have it there. I don't know what ma'mouls are, so I can't say about that.. Regional things (from whatever part of the country you are from - I think I remember you said NY) are always good!

timeline doesn't matter.

oh soooo true about the gum!! i bring him loads of gum from costco everytime i go because it just doesn't taste as good as it does here (or last as long) and he loves to give it away to all the kids in his neighborhood.

i also plan to bring some pens for the kids too.

thanks for all the ideas! keep em coming!

"Designer" brands are big there... I brought some Gap T-shirts that were a big hit. And baseball caps with sports logos on them were popular too. Anything Nike or Adidas is good too. Try going to Century 21 and see what you find.

I have yet to find something Maj's mother liked. Everything I've ever gotten her has gone in the corner, never to be seen again  Maj wants to bring her some nice pots and pans on our next visit, that might be something to try.

Chocolate is a big thing too... the chocolate they have there isn't as good as what we have here (IMO).

If you are giving to some young children, try bringing "Pop Rocks". I sent some to Hicham's sister two years ago and it is a neccessary item in every package we send.

NIKE is HUGE. Anything Nike would be so warmly welcomed.

Electronics are very welcomed too. Hicham just brought over a laptop for his family and some cheaper mp3 players and a digital camera (Brandsmart rocks with the off-brand items for cheap).

Also...right now stores are trying to clear out their winter merchandise. We went to some department stores like Macy's and Dillard's and found amazing sales (and got brand name merchandise).

ya thats exactly how my fiance is.

i wanted to get his mom more kitchen things. since she spends 90% of her time in there. if not, 95%. lol

she uses the stainless steel counter to cut things on. ugh. and a crappy knife. but i feel bad if i bring a cutting board and fancy knives. she has been doing this for 30+ years i don't know if she'd want a change.......know what i mean?

Jen, my MIL likes modern kitchen conveniences but when she visits and uses my knives, she can't stop talking about them. Sooo, we bought her a pretty nice set a couple years ago. I think it's a really good idea for you to do, too.

How can one claim God cares to judge a fornicator over judging a lying, conniving bully? I guess you would if you are the lying, conniving bully.
