London DCF Packet 4 Question and Advice for Others

I applied via DCF for my husband in July of this year. We are finally at the interview stage (hooray) and I just have one last question and a little advice from our experience.

We have been having problems receiving mail from the embassy, and never received the letter with our case number stating that we could book the medical. We eventually found out our case number by emailing the embassy once 8 weeks had passed from approval of our petition.

Having learned from this, we emailed the embassy a few weeks after my husband attended his medical, and they responded today that we have been given an interview date of Dec 2. We have not received packet 4, and the email response said not to worry if we don't receive it. They provided the following link to the documents required:

http://london.usembassy.gov/mobile/iv/application_documents.html

My questions are as follows:

1) Does my husband need to bring MY original birth certificate to the interview, or just his own? I am not clear from how this is worded in the link.

2) From other posts about the DCF interview, I see some people are bringing copies of all other applications/ all other documents that were submitted in this process. Is this necessary?

My advice is to send an email to the embassy asking about your interview once 5 days has passed from the date of your medical. I have noticed that a few people received their letter after the date of their interview, and that may have been our case had we not sent this email.
