Hello everyone!

I was advised that filing via regular mail at the NVC stage is faster than electronic. I would love to hear different opinions and stories about this. We wait long enough as it is, so if there is anything I can do to make it a little faster, I wanna know about it.

Thanks in advance! :D

Hi,

Sorry, it's me again :content:

So, in my case, they actually reviewed my documents in 10 days (which was amazing), but then my case was stalled for 35 days because they needed to scan the documents I sent previously to the USCIS for the i-130. They said they had buckets of 5.000 i-130 and it was very hard for them to find it.

If you want to hear it from others, this thread is recent and it will give you a measure of how bad it is:

Hi!

Thank you for answering some of my questions! I really appreciate it!

Even with a 35 day delay, 45 days seems pretty good compared to some people that wait for months. Should I send some papers that I sent with my I-130? what do they need?

I sent my i-130 in February of this year. We (still) have quite an active thread here at VJ. For many of the February thread members who sent documents through regular mail, the NVC moved them to CC in 16 - 21 days back in August/September. So my 45 days were at least twice as long.

And I only got it in 45 days because I called them every single day and pestered them so much I managed to get the direct line of my case supervisor. Eventually we got the senator involved too because we were stuck for more 21 days because there was a system bug that locked my daughter's case for 3 more weeks. It was a living hell.

The most important thing is for you to send all documents correctly, so you don't get a checklist (which is the same as RFE, but in NVC terminology). If you get a checklist, they will reset your scan date and tell you to wait 35 more days.

In these links you can see what you need to send:

Please write me here or send me a private message if you'd like me to review your documents list. Good luck!

Thank you so much! I don't have all of my documents together yet for NVC step. I just got the I-130 approved, but I want to start preparing everything.

We got married in a civil ceremony in Brazil and now we are planning a religious wedding for the end of April. I'm hoping and praying we can finish this process by then, so my husband can come to the US with me.

You are amazing with so much information! I appreciate it :)
