Marry in USA on VWP, return solo to UK to file?

I have heard one way would be to marry under the VWP while in the USA, me return to the UK and continue earning and saving while filing from here to move to the USA and be with him.

Saving money to cover the costs of a wedding, early marriage and immigration costs is a great plan. It's also often overlooked by many who participate in this forum. I wish you the best of luck.

My husband and I also got married in Austin while I was there visiting on the VWP. When entering the US, I was honest and said I was there to marry my fiance. We got married on my ninth visit to see him though, so I had a good track record of leaving the US on time. So depending on how often you've visited, you may or may not want to disclose that you'll be marrying your fiance during this visit.

The CR/IR-1 process takes about a year, give or take a couple of months.

During the visa process, your husband will have to disclose that he has previously petitioned for a foreign spouse. Don't know what impact, if any, that will have on your case.

Bring proof of your ties to the UK. Also never, ever, lie, even by omission to the CBP. If you're getting married and thats the point of the visit, then say it. That's why you have proof to show yer going home.
