Do people get to pick their interview time?

Hi guys,

I am in the process of filing a K-1 Visa, I129F, and have a few questions about the timeline as I can't find it anywhere in the K1 flowchat or guide :(

So, after step 7 "Embassy receives package and processes it. They will then prepare a letter to be sent to the foreign fiance(e)". Just wondering if there is a time limit on how long the package have to be sent to the foreign fiacee? After she has submitted the package to her local U.S. Embassy, does she get to choose her interview time or was it assigned? And after she has received her Visa does she has to go to the states right away?

The reason I am asking if because we are ready to submit our K1 visa, but have booked 2 trips during Febuary & March for our anniversary. We just want to make sure that she gets to choose her interview time so that she can go on our trips with no problems.

Thank you so much in advance!

It's the US Embassy. You don't get to pick anything. They do ALL the picking for you.

Argh. what a bummer! Thanks for the reply though!

I just found out that she will have to fly out within 6 months after the Visa is issued so there will still be enough time for her family to plan a farewell party at least.

Agree'd that it's based on the Embassy.

In Canada, you schedule your interview and Medical yourself. A lot of other countries do it as well.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

You should fill in your timeline so you can receive a more specific answer. Have you looked for your specific Embassy or region?
