So, why is it, when a person kills people with a gun, folks separate the crazy from the legal gun owners as to not be lumped in with the homicidal maniacs. But in the case of Muslims, no such effort is given? Even though gun violence has claimed more American lives than decades of terrorism?

If we held gun owners to the same standards as Muslims(we should since the numbers are so lopsided it's scary) you and those who carry should be denouncing gun violence every single day.

Since 9/11, there have been about 100 people killed by terrorism here in the US. Worldwide around 19,000 over the last 14 years. Here, every day we lose lives to gun violence, at years end that's 12000 plus lives a year.

291 mass shootings this year alone. Not to mention the ones where someone just murders their family or some random killing in the cities folks love to talk about. But yeah, let's keep worrying about Muslims while home grown terrorists continue to murder people.

Looking at 2013 totals, it was 11000 firearm related homicides and 33000 firearm related deaths. Those figures are typical. Not sure how you arrived at 4000. Better to look these things up than guess.

You say suicide accounts for half that number, yes it does. So just a measly 150,000 give or take violent [non-suicide] gun deaths. Feel better?

If there are 12,000 firearms deaths, and math is not your forte, gun deaths are 2 to 1 but your math error calculates it at 3 to 1 when you do your division in sentence two. Correcting your math, 12,000 annual firearms deaths in the USA, 6,000 suicides.

Conversely there were 71 terrorist related deaths, well under half of those even tangentially involving Muslim actors or Radical Muslim motivation.
