Many of 'them?' Somehow I think you're a little bit confused about where most of the violence is occurring and for sure confused about who is doing most of the actual dying. Sorry but I'm not particularly afraid of the Muslims that I have had contact with.

Will there be a terrorist attack somewhere in the US in the future, probably in fact definitely. The history shows a pretty clear picture of the threat though and it is pretty minimal to the point of near non-existence as to the death toll and effectiveness. I refuse to engage in blanket hatred of anyone simply for their color or beliefs.

Having said that there is no room on the planet for ISIS and the other groups of like minded Radical Muslims, don't misrepresentat what I just said.

You're mixing up two completely different topics.

By "them" I meant terrorists as in ones that have already done what they wanted to do, and not Muslims.

I wouldn't expect you to be afraid of the muslims you have had contact with, coming from the ME I've had contact with more muslims than most people on this board.

As far as the death toll goes - again - why do you think that is? Because it is certainly NOT because they are not trying.

But again my comment was in response to the "joke" by apparently a not too good comedian - but on the same token here's a thought: Let me take what this comedian said and change it a little bit;

To all the folks who are so concerned about people with guns have you not noticed that your gun loving neighbor hasn't tried to kill you yet? He's lived there for six years!'

Are you trying to tell me that the US actually recognizes the threat of Islamic Terrorist attacks, and in fact actively seeks to thwart those terrorist attacks, and the Obama is doing nothing crowd of course will excommunicate you for heresy here is hugely successful at stopping terrorist attacks?

Just like there is no comparison between the 13,000 homicides in the US in 2013. 4,000 homicides by firearms (very generously figured in favor of the guns are great for safety crowd.) And of course, no comparison between the 4,000 homicides by firearms in just 2013 and the 300 Americans killed world wide since 911.

OriZ apparently doesn't see the irony in warning me about what ISIS hopes to do in the US. He extolled that the terrorists' death toll is not from lack of trying. Correct. As a concern for potential cause of death, they have been so unsuccessful here that the title of the thread in which we are in is the obvious fear mongering and Muslim bashing I have been tirelessly pointing out.

I was listening to a comedian online today and he said the greatest line which was something along the lines of 'To all the folks who are so concerned about Muslims have you not noticed that your Muslim neighbor hasn't tried to kill or convert you yet? He's lived there for six years!' The joke was funnier but more so due to the truth behind it.

Irony? Yeah there's plenty of irony in this forum but it ain't comin from here...

For starters, I didn't say anything about ISIS. Nor about Muslims. Nor about refugees(except for mentioning that I have no problem with letting families with children in - after thorough examination - but that single men should be subject to more scrutiny). I'm talking about global terrorism and the silly comparison between the number of deaths in the US from terrorism and the number of gun homicides.

In the last couple weeks I've pointed out several things that I believe prove how silly it is.

The first being that even with all those gun deaths the US still fares better than more than 50% of countries where homicides are concerned.

The second being that even that could have been much better, had the numbers not been heavily skewed by homicides that happen in either areas with gun control(like a HUGE contribution of Chicago, LA and NYC alone), or incidents that happen in gun free zones(such as schools).

The third being that by killing tens of thousands of people around the world each year, and proclaiming day and night that they want to do the same in the US, the terrorists obviously have not killed more people yet due to lack of will but rather ability, which is only due to the efforts made to stop them.

All 3 points together make a compelling case, to me, that it's like comparing apples to oranges, but we don't have to agree.
