Items that must be sent to Embassy ASAP (Philippines)

Hi guys,

On VisaJourney's K1 Process Flowchart page (http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1flow), under Forms and Checklist sent to Beneficiary (step #8), it states the following:

"This will be sent out within a week (typically less) from when the embassy processes the received petition. This package will include a checklist of items and paperwork that must be collected. Some will be sent back asap, and others will be sent back later or brought to the interview."

Does anyone know what is the paperwork that must be sent back ASAP? I am guessing that they are referring to the DS-160. Other than that, would everything else that my fiancee needs be brought to the interview itself? Thanks!

That is what is called the packet 3, which in most cases never reaches the beneficiary as it is mailed to them and some postal systems, PhilPost for instances, is unreliable. Get the Embassy Letter and follow it. Those are the only documents that are required for the interview that you find listed on the EL.

More information using the link below at the red twisting arrow. It's FREE information and walks you through everything step by step for the USEM processing of the k-1 visa. The flow chart you are referencing is a "General Interruption" of the k-1 visa. It is not country specific so that is why I created the website that I referenced before. What you will discover is at my website is what you can expect from the Philippines processing of your K-1. I include "gotchas" so you are prepared and you don't run into those items that can spoil your journey because they weren't and will not be listed in the VJ flowchart.

Now is a good time to ignore the VJ flow chart, the suggestions are not embassy specific so to put it mildly - suck.

Everything with USEM in the Philippines is ONLINE.

Do you have your MNL case number yet? If not, then start calling the NVC until you get it. If you have it already, then you can schedule an interview and complete the medical.

Here are the U.S. Embassy Manila's K-1 interview preparation instructions from their web site: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/1178798/feb2015/K1-K2%20Applicant%20Interview%20Preparation%20Instructions%20-%20English%20_February%202015_.pdf
