10 year green card - Having a baby!

Hi guys! It's been a while. :)

Maybe this is not the right forum for this, but I'm just so very aware of doing everything by the book that I want to make sure that's what we're doing!

I recently received my 10 year green card, and we are expecting a baby in April! Is there anything in particular we need to do, any paperwork, to notify USCIS or such? Since I am still a citizen of Sweden (and thus the baby will have dual citizenship), I have to file paperwork to Sweden to register the baby once it's here, so I just had to ask!

Thank you so much!!! (L)

Relative to what, the baby? you? The baby's going to be a USC. Dont think it has anything on your case you already have a 10yr. Sweden may want some paperwork as you suggest but dont think anything USCIS related cause of your baby. Congrats though.

Congratulations on the impending addition to your family!

I completely understand the Pavlovian instinct to submit an immigration form for every major life event, but I'm pretty sure that the first and only time you'll need to mention your new son or daughter to USCIS is when you eventually fill out part 10 of your N-400 application for naturalization.

Can I just say how much I love the fact that you posted this in the "bringing family members of permanent residents to the US" forum? It is the most literal and adorable interpretation of the forum title imaginable. Seeing it here made me really happy. Stories like this are why we all go through this stressful, expensive, exasperating process. May your growing family bring you a lifetime of joy (L)

Eighteen years in the US and I still don't understand Velveeta, TV ads for prescription drugs, only getting 2 weeks paid vacation, or why anyone believes anything they see on Fox "News".
