Definitely do not assume it is upgraded...

It took NVC about 1 month to upgrade my petition. I was notified by postal mail about the upgrade.

Since the upgrade can trigger the start of processing the case, you might also receive emails from the NVC to state they start working the case and to pay the AOS fee.

i sent email to nvc with my citizenship certificate to upgrade my case from f2a to ir, its been 60 days now, haven't heard from them but i've already paid my aos and iv fee and sent my packages and done my ds-260. does it mean my case was upgraded? my pd is jan 2015 and current vb is for june 2014. how early before a case become current does nvc starts to correspond to aos and iv's? thank you.

The easiest way to check is to log on to https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx, on the top right it shows the visa class.

Unless your priority date is current it sounds like it was upgraded.

Um f2a category and um married 2 years and 4 months ago .. should my case upgrade from f2a or what ? Until now my category still the same and I don't understand what should to happen

F2A implies that when you filed, you were a permanent resident in the US.

Did you since go through Naturalization to become a US citizen?

http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/nvc/immigrant-processing-faqs.html

"You should make a copy of your Naturalization Certificate. Send the copy - NOT the original - to the NVC with a letter containing the case number and beneficiary name of the petition you want to upgrade.

Please see the NVC’s contact information for our mailing address."
